A lot of pressure is being applied by both sides. Conservatives need to keep the pressure on, and let their Chamber of Commerces know they are fuming at their betrayal (and call it just that, a betrayal of conservative economic values).

Don't be lulled into a false sense of security. This is not dead by any means. Zuckerberg has started his ad blitz on TV supporting these principles. There will be a few months cooling off period while Boehner, Cantor, Ryan, Goodlatte, and McCarthy work behind the scenes to craft legislation. Several bills are in committee or have been voted out of Committee on immigration. There is a phony border security bill in the House Homeland Security Committee.
We must let our legislators know where we stand on any immigration bill coming out of the House. The GOPe will wait until after the primary registration period is over and then try to work once again on getting an immigration bill thru. especially one on border security that can be used as a Trojan Horse with the Senate.
The other side has much more money and the megaphone. All we have are the people. Someone I know who works on the Hill said around Christmas time that she expected that there could be an immigration bill in the lame duck session of Congress. However, she didn't anticipate the current GOPe push now on immigration. Something is afoot.
