New York Mayor Bill de Blasio emphatically backed New Governor Andrew Cuomo’s controversial remarks that “extreme” conservatives – which he defined as being pro-life, second amendment advocates, or supporters of traditional marriage – “have no place in the state of New York.”
“I stand by that 100 percent,” de Blasio told reporters at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.
“I agree with Governor Cuomo’s remarks. I interpret his remarks to say that an extremist attitude that continues the reality of violence in our communities or an extremist attitude that denies the rights of women does not represent the views of New York State,” he added.
Governor Cuomo riled up conservatives in New York state as well as all over the country when he told a local New York State radio program last Friday “extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay....have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
The remarks have snowballed into a major controversy, with Fox News host Sean Hannity vowing to leave New York City, prompting a bidding war between Republican governors to persuade him to move to their states. Hannity is reportedly eyeing a political bid in Texas. At the March for Life yesterday, one participant pushed back at Cuomo, telling Breitbart News, "We're here, we're pro-life, get used to it."

Put all cities over X population under federal control (like DC) and unable to vote on any issue affecting the rest of the state...

Nationwide, 40% of voters are conservative per Gallup. This is the largest voting block. Let’s say that New York contains only 20% and they all leave. They would drop another five or six House seats, dropping them ever closer to irrelevancy. Is this what they really want?
Excellent point. I wish we could call their bluff and quarantine New York off so that ONLY liberal RATs are allowed to be there and ONLY their tax dollars can be used to sustain New York and its government programs.
I guarantee you that the state would look exactly like "Escape from New York" within a week tops.

Too many Conservatives think they are engaged in a battle of ideas with Liberals. Liberals are engaged in a war with Conservatives. As far as they are concerned, Conservatives in New York are trespassers.
Ah tolerance. The Left has over ninety million graves of political prisoners, reeducation camps, confiscation of property, religious persecution and the wholesale exile of entire populations to show historically just how tolerant they have been. Cuomo and de Blasio are following in the tradition of their mentors.
Cuomo is evil, period. He has earned his looks.
Let’s make no mistake in this - if leftists had the power to do so and thought they’d succeed,
they’d have all opposition killed.
