As NewsBusters previously reported, MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry and a panel of comedians last weekend senselessly mocked a picture of former Governor Mitt Romney’s family because it included his adopted black grandson.
Although she’s already apologized on Twitter, Harris-Perry began her show Saturday with a heartfelt apology much of the time fighting through a lump in her throat and tears (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Maybe she got infected in college.
If she were truly sorry, she would voluntarily take a leave of absence for a couple of weeks - without pay. I know it will never happen, but it’s what an honorable person who made an egregious error would do. And it would distinguish her as a person of humility and class. Which by trying to soft-pedal the whole thing, she obviously is not.

MSNBC is a nest of leftist vipers and Harris-Perry fits right in. Because that networks management approves of her rubbish, they won't fire her. However, it is possible that, like Bashir, she'll decided to 'resign'. That ends the controversy and saves the network from appearing as if they disagreed with her mocking an adopted black baby sitting on Mitt Romney's lap. We all know that image clashes with the left's false characterization of Republicans as inherent racists who yearn to oppress black people and why Melissa Harris-Perry was compelled to ridicule the reality that the photo presented.
.... Hells Bells .... that's not enough!!! .... I think she should forced by the powers that be to do penance by doing the "Apology Tour" to all of the NAACP associated activists and groups at the very least ... just like a Conservative is forced to do when anything remotely racist is even vaguely detected in any statement made buy them or any of their relatives and predecessors within a 100 years of his or her birth.

I’m not so sure her job is ‘hanging by a thread’. Phil Griffin, the MSNBC pres. wants his gang to behave rowdy, he wants the wild and unruly zealots on his station. It would not surprise me for MSNBC to have a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer for Morsi to be given a show of some type, just knowing this act would enrage and concern people. This station thrives on misery. Perry is stretching this story out for yet another week. Stretching it out like Turkish Taffy.
