On special edition of MSNBC's PoliticsNation on Monday in which a panel of MSNBC regulars selected awards for the year 2013, MSNBC contributor Joy Reid asserted that the "Knockout Game" was the "most overrated story of the year," as she complained that conservatives "went absolutely ballistic" and "wanted[ed] to stoke issues of race."
MSNBC contributor Jimmy Williams then brought up the IRS scandal in which conservative organizations were given closer scrutiny before the 2012 elections, with Williams charging, "Ain't nothing there. Never was, never will be," and with fellow panel member Krystal Ball chiming in that "It's not even a scandal."
Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Monday, December 30, PoliticsNation on MSNBC:
AL SHARPTON: Let's get right back to the awards. First up, the most overrated story of the year. Krystal?
KRYSTAL BALL, MSNBC HOST: Well, slipping in right under the wire at the end of the year here, I think I got to go with pajama boy. The young man in the advertisement. Conservatives freaked out about this thing. It was incredibly silly.
SHARPTON: Joy?
JOY REID, MSNBC CONTRIBUTOR: Got to say the knockout game. Two videos that were in about a hundred different stories, no trend anyone could discern, but the right went absolutely ballistic over it because they want to stoke issues of race.
SHARPTON: Jimmy?
JIMMY WILLIAMS, MSNBC CONTRIBUTOR: The Internal Revenue Service scandal.
BALL: Yes.
WILLIAMS: Ain't nothing there. Never was. Never will be.
BALL: It's not even a scandal.
WILLIAMS: Not even a scandal.
That is a laugh, the liberals accusing the right of playing the race card!
How about giving MSNBC a rest when it comes to giving them exposure.
I think it's pretty clear that the Martin/Zimmerman incident was the most over-rated story of the year.

Ummm....isn’t that MSNBC does with every story they show? To them, everything has a racial component that must be acknowledged.
Well sheesh. I guess it’s case closed on the Knockout “Game” and the IRS non-scandal. As long as MSNBC says so.

i remember when a black guest went on FOX making his comments regarding the knock-out game,(trying to defend it) he said that “it was nothing new”. as if it was no big deal, being blacks having been trying to knock out innocent people on the sidewalks since the 60’s or 70’s,,,aka,,,nothing to see here, what difference does it make.
We concluded that since Newsweek sold for a dollar, fifty cents would be fair.
Present the facts and the stories and the liars and the truth will stick out like a sore thumb. Seems lately like a lot of lefties have been finding out that Obammie has been playing them like a finely tuned fiddle.

When they say there’s “nothing there”, are we sure they aren’t referring to their ratings? I think the conservative bloggers who for some reason insist on monitoring this nonsense are the only people actually watching.

MSNBC is not a valid news station. It is an adjunct to the DNC and should be treated as such.
These are some scared puppies.
All they can do at this point is play the race card—And it’s not working.
I have to wonder how they survive with such low ratings. Who’s paying their bills these days?
