Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday will convene a special meeting of the Senate Democratic caucus and senior White Officials to discuss the troubled rollout of ObamaCare.
Reid on Wednesday told reporters he would not answer questions about the hundreds of thousands of insurance policy cancellations or other issues until he has further discussions with the White House.
The Senate leader said President Obama called him Tuesday evening to discuss healthcare and other issues.
Several Democrats have signed onto a proposal sponsored by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) that would force insurance companies to let people keep their health plans if they like them.
Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said he would have a better idea of what proposals Democrats will push to improve the new law after the Thursday meeting.
Republicans could scarcely contain their glee over the growing Democratic anxiety.
"Obviously panic has set in on the other side," Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said.
Good. Now don’t help them just let them twist in the wind.
I believe, if this happens, we'll be able to see how good our Zombie Apocalypse preps are.
The ‘pubs should tell Dingy that if he and the dems want their support, they’ll need to negotiate... with Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.
“How do you un-cancel health insurance” you ask?
Its done the same way that Barry “fixed” the Banks that were too big to fail.
He Natioanalizes the Insurance Companies.
Cloward Piven - the American way to implement Socialism in the US.
I believe the plan he had was to have this thing melt down over time, but he didn’t expect it to happen this fast.
He is counting on the impending collapse, to be the great savior with the Federal Government when people are crying in despair. Its what Hope and Change were made for.
I am personally offended by Reid's remarks. He should resign as a result.
Employers have wanted to decouple healthcare from employer-provided benefits. Obamacare gives them the tool to do that. The fines for not providing it are far less than the costs of providing it to their employees. Tens of millions will be dropped from employer plans and forced into the exchanges. It is logical and human nature for most employers to make this decision. The financial incentive is clear.
Employer mandate
Beginning in 2015, employers with 50+ full-time employees or full-time equivalents must offer medical coverage that is "affordable" and provides minimum value to full-time employees and their children up to age 26 or face penalties.
Coverage is affordable if employee contributions are less than 9.5% of:
Employee's W-2 wages
Employees monthly wages (hourly rate x 130 hours per month),
OR Employer Penalties
I would bet anything right now they are discussing how they can blame Republicans and the communist propaganda machine posing as our impartial media will blare it on the headlines for the next 3 years. “Republicans hacked website”
Hey Harry,,,Obamacare is THE LAW OF THE LAND!!! No changes,,,,as in NO!!!!!
Bwaaahaahahaa! See how old Reid likes it now.
“Im saying if a company largely has lower-income employees they will do it but not if theyre largely stagged with middle-to-upper-income types. Just like the companies with lower-income employees have been cutting them back to under 30 hours now, but not companies with a more educated and higher paid workforce.”
You obviously didn’t hear how IBM cut benefits for its retirees and have no idea how many contractors IBM relies on......
Best minds in the bunch.
They are certainly smarter than Reid...
Retirees are a whole different story. Obviously there’s a long-term trend of companies moving away from funding their employees’ retirement. It’s not even much of an incentive for employees to have a retirement plan when they know it’s in jeopardy if the company ever goes belly up.
However companies do offer incentives of matching 401K contributions to keep good employees. That’s not something they have to do, it’s one of those incentives like health insurance that employees like to see because they get the benefit in real time.
Too abd those beautiful dogs have to live with the likes of them! They got Sunny because they spend no time with Bo (his-BO-namesake!) Poor dogs!
abd=bad
I know, lets throw more money and legislation at it.
