The 50th-anniversary coverage of the Kennedy assassination on CBS News won't include the recollections of its longtime anchor Dan Rather, further proof of the lingering bitterness following Rather's messy exit and subsequent lawsuit against the network.
Rather helped organize CBS' plans for President John F. Kennedy's visit to Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, and as a young reporter was a key component of assassination coverage. Now 82, with his own show on AXS-TV, he's one of the few reporters on the story that day who's still active in journalism...

Hell probably get tighter than the rusted lug nuts on a 55 Ford.
Very good.
Irony.
crap, that’s funny
That’s great.
Years ago, I had a bumper sticker:
“CBS is RATHER BIASED”
“Liberals always throw people under the bus because they have neither honor, nor loyaty.”
True. Although I believe that he is a POS, in this context, I would definitely have liked to have him on as a part of the historical event. If he was still alive, I would have even extended that offer to the despicable Cronkite.
Aw, poor widdle Dan. What’s the frequency, Kenneth?
We read so much for so long about that terrible day in Dallas. I was under the impression that JFK had been dead for a half hour before it was announced. Many of the tabloids keep implicating LBJ, as did Barr McClellan, the first husband of former State Comptroller Carole Strayhorn, in a book he wrote years ago.
At one time, Dan’s daughter, Robin, was the head or chairman or some such position of the TX Democrat Party. Dan must be a NYC Democrat and poised for a huge mayoral win for his party tonight.
October Surprise. Anything to steal an election.
&&&
That was in the old days. No October Surprise necessary now, as they have their voter fraud machine so well tuned that a win is guaranteed. Motor Voter, early voting, and absentee ballots have made it all so much easier.
Interesting explanation of the whole thing. Makes sense. One would think that the truth could be told now....
Thanks for posting that.
It’s sad that Rather has made so many enemies at his old station. He was linked to many historic interviews from back then. You can’t keep trashing your associates in public and expect glad-handing forever. He’s become the same ‘Skunk At The Picnic’ that Jimmy Carter usually is in any gathering of Presidents. Even Poppy Bush didn’t want Jimmy standing near hi
The arrogance is still very strong in Rather.

Yet he embraces Clinton. Lordy....
That’s beautiful. Hey Dan, remember when you offered to go knock down Mr. Zapruder and steal his film for CBS? Well, now your media pals are knocking you down and stealing your thunder.
Sweets to the sweet.

You’re right. He’s probably supporting the Commie/Progressive candidate in NYC.

Poppy Bush is too busy holding Clinton’s hand and kissing Obama’s butt. He has no time for Carter.
I don’t believe any of the conspiracy theories. You go t Daley Plaza, and you realize how close quarters that it was.
I would expect a military trained marksman to make the first shot with ease. The second and third were just wild shots that hit the mark. Never underestimate plain old dumb luck.
You sit in the places, and you realize that you have shot walking deer at oblique angles at distances further than what Oswald was presented with.
Fish in a barrel.
The reason there are so many conspiracy theories is because there was an obvious coverup of something. So many things don’t make sense. So many witnesses were completely ignored by the Warren commission. They had narrative and they culled the testimony to fit it.
No doubt it was handled poorly by all involved.
As for the rest of the stuff the Secret Service, FBI, LBJ, etc di or didn’t do, we will never know the reality until all those involved are long dead.
We all understand that most of what was presented in the Warren Report was fiction.
