Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is planning to release legislation next week that would provide legal status for six years to undocumented immigrants in the United States, he said in an interview Wednesday.
Issa, an influential Republican who leads the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, described the legislation as a come-from-the-shadows effort that would allow the government to do a full accounting of those who are in the U.S. illegally. Immigrants in this new status would be able to travel to their native country while on this temporary visa, he said.

Unless it really secures the border, strengthens the Border Patrol, ICE, and CBE, cuts off benefits to illegals, and stiffens the penalties for illegal entry and for hiring illegals (I’m talking jail time; any fine will just be passed along to us), then it’s a bad bill. After these things are done, we can look at overhauling H1-B visas and other immigration procedures, streamlining the procedure for coming here legally, and other proposals.
The problem with any law is that no matter how it is written the democrats will never live up to the parts they don’t like. Look at how Obama has gutted the current INA. The things he does with the stroke of a pen are illegal and violate the “law of the land.”
If the Legislature is only to do what the people supposedly want, then why have a Legislature? Why not go to a straight democracy? I thought the point of a our system was to fight against the mob when needed, and do what was right? /rhetorical
Take your time.
“Issa probably thinks he is doing what the people of CA want, and I guess he is.”
Hardly. He’s doing what the Chamber of Commerce and the Grover Norquist crowd want. The usual band of traitors that GOP Congressmen cater to.
Why? Have you not read Sarah Palin’s latest Facebook book review?
Boehner and the GOP leadership control the funds for electing or reelecting republicans to their seats and they sell the committee positions.
This is all about buying members out, or in the same sense having members sellout.
Issa is bought and paid for like so many others.
Rand Paul along with 90% of the stupid party GOP leadership apparently think that the 12 million (more like 20 million actually) are going to vote Republican after getting DemoRAT registration forms & tons of free stuff from the demoRATs? I think even Ted Cruz is in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens (I don't call the illegals to be immigrants...they are illegal aliens.
Our country is screwed because of demoRAT traitors, Republican traitors, a communist/muzlim 0dumb0 as president & a thoroughly corrupt judicial branch.
We need a great, massive, bloody Civil War... maybe we (conservatives) will end up with our own country and be rid of the liberals & leftists for at least another 3-4 generations.
I call them Foreign Criminal Invaders
What’s the difference between Republicans and Democrats?
The entire country is focusing on ObamaCare.
The GOPe are bought and paid for corporatists.
Therefore they will attempt to sneak this through while attention is diverted.
Issa and the rest of the GOP corporatists can go straight to hell.
Nope. Paul’s plan is to give work permits to the ones who aren’t kicked out.... not citizenship... and crossreference them to make sure they’re not voting. I wouldn’t be surprised if Paul’s failed amendments are the basis for what Issa is working on. We’ll see...
Perhaps we can hire the illegals to sit for hours trying to get through to the Obamacare site. You know... Just signing up for the healthcare that Americans refuse to sign up for.
Ready or not, here it comes...again.
No wonder Issa has been as useful as tits on a bull "investigating" zero.....
Actually, I wonder why some people think that surrendering to the Democrats — BEFORE an election has occurred — somehow “saves” America.

NO!
Documentation would be a good first step towards eventual amnesty and citizenship or in other words an incremental step in the wrong direction.
The Republicans would be doing in slow motion want the Democrats want to do right away, amnesty and citizenship for illegals.
The two big parties are going the same way at different speeds. THE WRONG WAY......
