Me too. If/when this happens and I see it propagating out of the urban centers, I'll be working from home via VPN. I'll be needed at home to be standing a watch for zombies.
The government will get the Senate and House to okay borrowing again, likely today, so the food stamp program won’t shut down -this time.
I have a good supply of Centurion 12GA ammo that has a .65 caliber steel ball encased in a nylon rifled insert. It basically turns your shotgun into a pump action musket that is accurate out to 50 yards or so. They are nasty.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
It appeared to me that the individual states could use their discretionary funds to support those programs, but I may have misinterpreted.
I bought my farm in central KY for something like this, but didn’t think it would really matter. It still might now, but this development is certainly interesting.
Did you make sure nobody saw you take all those extra groceries outta your car?
Forgot one:
CONGRESS ASKS PRESIDENT FOR TURKEY RELIEF, TOLD TO STUFF IT.
I probably could use more range time. Hate to use the ammo, though.
I sincerely hope this one turns out to be bogus.
Combined General and Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Could be a false story planted to add pressure to get the GOP to cave.
Youre foolish to look forward to that.
During the winter, we keep blankets, food and flashlights in the car unless we are stuck in a blizard. We’re ready, but not looking forward to it if it happens.
Do the stories of the DHS getting prepared for "something big" take on a bigger meaning now?
Do the stories of FEMA camps mean a bit more in light of this possible shutdown of the EBT system?
Better to be prepared. And that means now. Get right with God.
Lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.
I will never leave you nor forsake you.
There are three stop lights close together between my Kroger and Walmart. I think the food stamp card holders go to Walmart, as I only see well dressed older people in my Kroger. Seldom is there a child in Kroger. It’s quiet and we older people help other older people in there. It is very pleasant to shop there. They also don’t allow more than two people waiting to check out. When there is a third person waiting, the manager opens another register.
If the cards quit working, that Walmart will go nuts. The Kroger won’t.
Note to self: stock up on ammo and magazines.
Given a choice between being unarmed in a rural setting or armed in an urban setting, I’d opt for rural—but rural and armed seems clearly the superior option, if possible.
As though we needed yet ANOTHER reason for a run on guns and ammo!
“Live in a urban area, do ya?”
Conversely, shipments may stop going to rural areas too having been prioritized for delivery to ‘critical recipients’ aka the politically-connected. The military would quickly control the highways and likely the deliveries too.
Of course, home delivery at night. Lights off at the house and made sure my corner streetlight was out. :)
What will stop the walmart ebt holders from going across the street to the kroger once they’ve pillaged the walmart?
