Dang, my job’s premium is $240 with kids and wife.

Good luck trying to get 20-somethings on that plan. That’s a freaking car payment.

There is no way in hell that this country can afford this nonsense.

That’s per person so if you are married it will be $640.00 and I am not sure if that is the payment with the subsidy or not. They act like it is a great thing but they don’t mention you are forced to buy the insurance or pay a penalty
1 percent of your salary whichever is higher.

My husband and I pay a $100.00 a month and our co pays are $15.00 not 45.00.

I met a young man who works at a military ship yard in WA. A dad of two he makes $57,000. His exchange premium quote is $369 after a subsidy to buy him down from $863.

That is after tax payout and he doesn't own his home. So of the roughly $40,000 he takes home in a year he is now gonna pay over 10% for a Silver Plan with a $10,000 deductible. That means most of the normal expenses for a young guy raising kids; glasses, broken bones, vaccinations etc., will come out of pocket.

Here in CA, it will cost me $665 for a mid-grade plan. I’m single over 60. Because of my income there will be no subsidies. For me, ths would be a more expensive down-graded plan.

If you’re middle to upper income, this will be a huge increase accross the nation.

"Essentially they're saying people will like this thing too much, and then it will be really hard to roll back,"

Who and what is this creature ? How in the world can he state such when he himself has said the plan has problems ? He has had to grant extensions and waivers to more people then can be counted. This is beyond contempt for the people who will be stuck with these bills. If this thing gets implemented the response will be a major TAX strike across the board. If you are not gonna pay this IRS Healthcare bill, why pay any of their bills ? Right now I am about as close to a tax strike as possible just because the US government is aiding and abetting terrorism. And Obama acknowledged that recently by waiving the laws preventing the US from aiding and abetting terrorists. I cannot give money to such an organization. It would be like paying Hitler to kill you.

I think it’s going to be much more than that even at the beginning and prices will rise astronomically, while care will decline shortly thereafter.

So only $1300 a month for family of 4 for a mid term plan
before anyone even visits a doctor

plus a huge deductible when you do

and everything gets worse next year

yes people will die because this makes actually seeing a doctor unaffordable for so many

at least Sandra Fluck will get free birth control

And the rule of thumb will be, you only pay premiums if you pay income taxes. If you don’t, the rest of us (the 47%?) will ‘subsidize’ you/’hoss your freight.’

The prices of the new plans are at the heart of a political debate

It's not (entirely) the price but what coverage you get for that price.

They make it sound like $328 is the whole cost. That’s just the sign up fee to be able to call yourself a member of Obama’s team. He don’t even give you a t-shirt for that.

Don’t have health insurance right now... can’t afford it.

$328 will hurt my family in a big way. We just save up money for “emergencies,” (which just isn’t health care) and that’s about it. We’re so screwed.

that’s wrong.

to determine the cost per person, one will need a rare ability... math

there are 310m people in the US.
US healthcare in 2011 cost a total of $3 trillion... and that was before we told everyone it was free

the cost per person in 2011 was $9677/yr... or $806/mon per person

there are roughly 110m homes in the US.
the would mean $27,272/yr per household... or $2,273/mon per household

just the facts
