CNN: Three of the gunmen in the Kenyan mall attack that killed at least 68 are from the United States. Two are from Minnesota, one from Missouri.

Somali parents have been reporting their teenaged sons going missing in MN for a few years. I'm curious as to how these young men are leaving the country without their parents' permission. When our daughter was 14, she and I went with some friends to Montreal. At the border, the train stopped and US Border officials came on board, and when we showed them our IDs, (I brought her birth certificate, because she didn't yet have a passport or driver's license) the officer asked if I had a letter from her father, my husband, giving me permission to take her out of the country. I laughed, because I thought he was joking, but apparently he wasn't. I told him I'd never heard of that, but if he wanted to CALL my husband, he was welcome to do so. He didn't pursue it, and we crossed over and back a few days later, without any other problems.

SO how are these boys leaving the country, if they are minors?

Across the fruited plain, the concourses in our nation's malls are experiencing dwindling numbers of shoppers, the stores are becoming barren of customers, a goodly number of formerly-quality shops are dark and empty - or temporarily occupied by purveyors of shoddy discount crap that should be sold in flea markets.

Now, with terrorists morphing into mall rats, watch for these sprawling emporia to become dinosaurs, relics of an era of a stable economy, an era of no forced "diversity", an era of feelings of security in our bustling, friendly, local malls.

The gradually-disappearing mall complexes will eventually be torn down or turned into Section 8 housing for 30 million newly-legal aliens and their extended families who will desperately need places to hang their sombreros and kaffiyas.

No, the reason is simply that there hasn’t been any reason for them to do it here. We’re already half-way to becoming an Islamic country, thanks to Barry. And in any case, their recent attacks - such as Boston - have disappeared from the press so fast they didn’t have a lot of impact.

Here, Muslim attacks are just accepted as the same old same old, something, furthermore, that never merits any response and, in fact, something to which we infidels have no right to respond.

Probably they wouldn’t get shot if they attacked an American mall anyway, but even if they did get shot, their whole attack is a suicide mission, so the possibility of death is not going to dissuade them. And if they attack in a large group with explosives (as this group did), picking off a few of them isn’t going to make much of a difference.

But, as I say, they don’t need to attack because they’ve already won.
