There’s nothing inherently wrong with eating horse meat. But not telling consumers is wrong.
Makes you wonder what else is in there?..........

The tests came from customers behavior of going to the racetrack and running around on open fields.

In some countries, they could have charged a premium for horse meat.

I’m wondering if eating horse meat has the opposite effect as PETA’s claims of eating eating chicken wings....? /s

Owen Paterson said it was unacceptable that consumers were mis-sold products, but that the problems originated overseas. "We believe that the two particular cases of the frozen burgers from Tesco and the lasagne from Findus are linked to suppliers in Ireland and France respectively. Imagine if food containing 30% to 100% pork products was "mislabeled", and then got put on supermarket shelves in the Middle East :)

Good story.....A few years ago an older neighbor said he bought a can of corned beef but he was sure it was horsemeat instead. I asked how he knew and he said when he was in the army they fed him horsemeat and he knew the taste. I dismissed him as misguided but a month later it came out in the news that it was horsemeat...With corned beef over $4 a can I'm sure the temptation is to pass it off as such...
