The New Yorker Admits Fox News is More Balanced than MSNBC
Townhall.com ^ | August 28, 2013 | Heather Ginsberg

Hmmm, based on what the left preaches isn’t it supposed to be Fox News that is the biased news station? Well even the liberals over at The New Yorker are saying that MSNBC is worse!

According to The New Yorker’s Kelefa Sanneh, who for 8 years was a critic at the New York Times, profiled MSNBC and found that “Conservatives are far less visible on MSNBC than liberals are on Fox News”. And not only is MSNBC less likely to have Conservatives on their shows, but when they do, they tend to be Republicans who talk trash right-wingers.

Sanneh had this to say about Phil Griffin’s show:

Virtually every other show [aside from "Morning Joe"] belongs to hosts who unstintingly support Obama and the Democrats, with only minor points of disagreement. ([Host Chris] Hayes criticizes Obama for his drone killings and surveillance programs, and often conducts friendly interviews with Glenn Greenwald, the journalist who collaborated with Edward Snowden. Melissa Harris-Perry, who appears on weekends at 10 a.m., nearly always defends Obama, and called Glenn Greenwald a “jerk.”)

Conservatives are far less visible on MSNBC than liberals are on Fox News, and the right-leaning guests who do appear are typically critics of the conservative movement: Steve Schmidt, the Republican strategist, who says the party is too tolerant of “nuts” and “kooks”; Josh Barro, an advocate for Republican reform who describes himself as “neoliberal”; Abby Huntsman, the daughter of failed presidential candidate Jon, who has described the G.O.P. as a party of “non-inclusion.” The over-all impression is that your average Republican or conservative is simply too fanatical to be part of polite discourse.

Some have said that the article was too easy on Fox News, saying that the liberals who appear on Fox News are simply too tame. Either way, isn’t the point of media to be unbiased and fair? The fact that MSNBC obviously is not giving equal time to Republicans and Democrats is just unfair to viewers. Give us the information and then let us form our own opinions.

Rush is good, but I am not talking about radio. I am talking about a video News Channel like Fox, only a conservative one, not one that is ‘fair and balanced’. I’m tired of fair. I’m tired of balanced. The left has NO channels of ‘fair and balanced’ news, and until we play on the same battlefield with the same weapons they do, we will *stay* crushed.

Every time I think of MSNBC, I picture Chris Matthews’ fat dumb ass with tingly legs sitting on one end of a teeter- totter with no one on the other end. That’s their idea of fair and balanced.

What’s with ‘the FIVE’ on the screen and the SIX at the table?

You made me go back and look because only three of 'em registered on my RADAR initially. :)

WHAT, WAIT.. We express the need for news media to simply report direct from the sources that know the pure facts.. This is as close as one has the opportunity to hear the unfettered access to the truth.. With this proviso, how could we be fooled? That’s it! They report, and we can thus, decide.. FAIR! Well, .. maybe not..

It gets a bit harder to report the news directly from the originating sources, if the Federal Government, police spokespersons, eyewitnesses, statisticians, and poll-takers, among others, are already bias or worse..

WHATS LEFT FOR US?

How about plain COMMONSENSE, skepticism, and research.. The answer is for the consumer of the data to either dig further, tune into more sources, or just tune out.. DUH!

WHAT DIFFERENCES DOES IT MAKE?.. (insert Hillary Clinton)

This is where we find ourselves, and why we are stuck in this limbo.. The only answer that anyone should/could trust is FREEREPUBLIC.COM.. Have you done your part to keep this one and only source left? We all know that WE, FREEPERS ALWAYS TELL THE UNVARNISHED TRUTH.. Sheeesh,

DONATE all you can, TODAY, if not.. well.. gulp..

Sorry, Fox, but “the Five”, is the most banal, insipid, least creative moniker ever.

The ratings at MSNBC have really tanked year over year (down almost 50%). In their minds they are doing everything perfectly, so they'll make no adjustments and continue to wonder what went wrong as their ship slips beneath the waves.

..and until we play on the same battlefield with the same weapons they do, we will *stay* crushed.

You and I know this; as well as a LOT of FR folks.

So HOW to we go about IMPLEMENTING the strategy and HOW do we get the RNC leadership to actually DO it?

Fox News is More Balanced than MSNBC

That's not saying much if you stop and think about it. Pravda at the height of the Cold War was more fair and balanced that MSNBC is.

Are you comparing Fox News to Pravda? You couldn’t get more ridiculous if you did

Nothing really. They are all hosts. Andrea Tantaro hosts usually for Kimberly Guilfoile when she is off, and this week she will host for Dana Perino, who is on board the Africa Mercy, the world's largest charity hospital ship, for its first visit to Republic of the Congo.

It says here http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/the-five/content/follow-dana-perinos-mercy-ships-mission that she is on the ship operated by Mercy Ships for several days. The ship will dock in the port Pointe Noire, Congo, for a 10 month stay.

I am not sure if the is going to stay the whole time, but you can read her posts and Twitter posts in the link

You must be talking about The View which can not compare itself to The Five and obviously you have never watched the show

On the other hand, you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how much it stinks
