This wasnt the revolution the tea party had in mind.
Four years ago, the movement and its potent mix of anger and populism persuaded thousands of costumed and sign-waving conservatives to protest the ballooning deficit and President Obamas health care law. It swept a crop of no-compromise lawmakers into Congress and governors offices and transformed political up-and-comers, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, into household names.
But as many tea party stars seek re-election next year and Rubio considers a 2016 presidential run, conservative activists are finding themselves at a crossroads. Many of their standard-bearers have embraced more moderate positions on bedrock issues such as immigration and health care, broadening their appeal in swing states but dampening grass-roots passion.
They keep sticking their finger in the eyes of the guys who got them elected, said Ralph King, a co-founder of the Cleveland Tea Party Patriots. A lot of people are feeling betrayed.

Hate to say it but you are a victim of reading the MSM news. If you really want truth about anything, please try multiple sources and not the standard mainstream news.
If you really believe that a few percent of cuts are that drastic then you are not just wrong but ignorant, sorry to say.
let's hit back and call the new party "the Liberal Progressive party" with a Tea-Party agenda
i'll bet the leftists will get purple in the face when they hear the name :)
bkmk
Heh, would confuse too many folks.
RINO hunting time continues.
Pretty accurate for AP story
damn straight.
nothing moderate of voting for living in a surveillance state worse than east germany ever could be, in violation of the constitution.
If amnesty passes, Texas will be gone.
Any effort to correct the system and install constitutional loving Americans will be a daunting and an arduous task. But, culling the herd of the spineless, traitorous and backstabbing Communist-lites is essential for the health of our country.
I firmly believe one or more prominent Rino, two-faced republicans should be politically sacrificed each election cycle. Just as Rove and his Bush buddies gang up on conservatives, we should adopt an eye for an eye, if you will.
Rats would never take this action; they are beholden to ideology vice having fundamental love of country they despise America. So, voting for one doesnt compute with me either.
However, sending another Lugar like idiot home to garden seems to me a compassionate conservative move. ;-) Oh, thats right; Lugar didnt even hold a residence in Indiana when his ass got bounced. Pick em off one by one.
Boehner, McLame, Gramnesty, Ryan, Rubio, Saxby Clueless or pick your favorite repub POS. Send a very clear, distinct message with our money and votes. We wont give the rats anything but a political carcass smelling of their own stink to pick over! Feel free to add your own names to the political no longer American list, then vote and fund them out! Save the real juice and effort for true conservatives.
The biggest lie in the world!
Snort!
We dont need more taxes to avoid military cuts. We need a nOn communist president who will reform social programs. In fact taxes just got raised significantly on January 1. Also major tax increases in Obamacare that go into effect this year and next. Yet we still saw major cuts to the military.
I still will continue saying the Tea Party makes a mistake by not having a MEASUREMENT SYSTEM in place that we could all monitor. All they need to do is state their stance and how that stance would be displayed on each piece of legislation. Then sign up for GovTrac or something and start measuring what these people are doing. A little conservative/liberal gas gauge-like graphic for each candidate. If they know their lib vote is going to be seen, they might change their ways. And it wouldn’t be an opinion, it would be a fact. Imagine what that graphic would look like for Lindsey Geaham who says he will be running as a conservative. His gas gauge graphic would be on EMPTY.
The TEA Party is not an organization, it does not have leaders, there is no mechanism in place for anyone to decide what the TEA Party thinks or will do.
If there was a central organization, the left would have probably destroyed it by now.
It doesn’t stop you or anyone else from doing this, it could catch on and become a prime source of information for the TEA party masses.
Despite all the efforts of the IRS, it failed to discourage the Tea Party movement. It is RESURGING.
What is needed is not to funnel money through a formal TEA party, but getting individuals to funnel money to vetted candidates. You still need some money to set up the structure, web pages, communications to the members.
Having the TEA party distribute the money directly to candidates makes for a large target.
I’m not sure how you keep this from being manipulated by the left though.
I agree:
- amnesty,
- the ‘common core’ education dumbing-down,
- funding Obamacare,
- not seriously investigating Benghazi, the IRS, etc.,
- no federal government cuts to speak of,
- NSA domestic spying,
- etc., etc.
The GOPe and leadership have delivered complicity, not opposition, to the Democrats and Obama.
Good example. You want to raise taxes a little bit, I want to cut taxes a lot. So we compromise. We cut taxes a little bit.
See how easy and reasonable that is?
-—— (they might have finally got it right)-——
or more likely they know that conservatives are a fickle bunch and a few can be cut out of the herd. That few is enough to disrupt the effort.
Several in this thread fell for it.
Many of their standard-bearers have embraced more moderate positions
Who could have ever thought that these outstanding candidates would turn that way? Who ever thought that they were more interested in enhancing their personal wealth and power than representing the people who sent them there? Who would have ever thought that their only goal was to become a RINO or worse yet, a RINO GOP-E?
It’s never failed in the history of “public service” that once in office, most have the attitude “Screw you! I’t all for me now.”
We do have some RARE exceptions to the rule but they are few and far in between.
We have to face the fact that conservative citizens have no general representation and have to form a new party quick in order to save our country for the enemy is in Washington D.C. and in the legislature of all 50 states.
