He saved an old lady that was choking on an artichoke.

I hear there's a movement in the EMS community to change the name from "The Heimlich maneuver" to "The Zimmerman Maneuver."

Tell me about it. That's something people never mention is when he shot the attempted murderer, he didn't aim for the belly or the extremities or even the head - He aimed for the heart and made a direct hit instantly neutralizing the threat to his life.

Very rarely does it happen, but sometimes a shot through the brain will fail to incapacitate. I've read stories of attackers getting shot THREE times through the brain and still not going down. Is that crazy or what? How is that possible? But it happens.

A shot to the heart though? No way, impossible. If you look at photos of the wound on the attempted murderers chest, there is not a drop of blood. It instantly seized the attempted murderers heart. It passed through the attempted murderers lung and actually lodged in his heart. Perfect shot.

The states with reciprocity don’t have to worry about the permits. If one has a CCW in Florida one can carry it to GA, Alabama, Ms, Louisiana, and Texas without a problem. NY, Mass, Illinois, and NJ are anal about transportation of a weapon between the states.

"Apparently you have been taken in by the MSM."

Not really, since I don't read newspapers or watch any TV news channels. The last time I had to qualify with a weapon in NY State was 2003. I've retired since then, and since I don't own, and have no plan to purchase a weapon, I haven't followed the gun laws in NY state or the country. Thanks for the link by the way.

If I were him, I'd probably be wearing some form of disguise.

I don’t recall the Second Amendment saying that I have to register anything.

In Texas you don’t need a ccw to carry in your car. Your car is an extension of the castle doctrine.

“Anyone but a felon can carry a weapon in their car in Texas. Permits are for sissy states.”

Correct. As long as it’s concealed anyone, CCW holder or not, can carry a gun in their vehicle. There use to be some inanity about “traveling” which most took to mean crossing county lines in order to carry in the car but no longer.

Traveling requirement was dropped several years ago here in Texas. You do need keep pistols concealed (long arms may be openly carried) and tell an officer if they ask. If you have a CCW in Texas, you are required to inform him up front (CCW permit holders *must* declare when handing over ID) but if you do not have a permit you only have to tell the officer if they ask.

How do we know the George Zimmerman stopped by the officer was THE George Zimmerman?

Is there a dash-cam video showing his face? Or is the media basing everything on just the cop's remarks (which prove nothing)?

Some media reports are saying this is the second traffic incident George was involved in without mentioning the second incident was saving that family from being burned alive in their car!

In Texas, it’s perfectly legal to carry a loaded pistol in your vehicle, as long as it’s not visible.

This *could* be a different guy, you know. German surnames are still very common in Texas.

Hope this stupid news report doesn't put yet another Zimmerman family in danger.

Somebody in Texas with a sense of humor could make great sport with this by, in a few days, announcing a “George Zimmerman look-alike contest”, with a $500 grand prize.

To be held at a Dallas gay bar, that doesn’t know anything about the contest.

Imagine a whole bunch of (possibly armed) Mexican men showing up at a gay bar at the same time as an irate crowd of anti-Zimmerman black protestors?

Maybe it would be more entertaining if the flyers said that the contest will be judged by George Zimmerman, Salman Rushdie, and Edward Snowden.
