An Atlanta crook picked the wrong Waffle House to target early Monday morning. Thats because when the bandana and hoodie-wearing bandit walked into the restaurant and pointed a gun at patrons, one of them reached for his gun and fired back.
Police say the suspect entered the Waffle House in south Fulton County just before 2 am, brandishing a pistol and demanding money.
Nobody move and open the cash register, the suspect, 20-year-old Ashton Macafee, allegedly said according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC).
What he didnt know was that seated together at a booth were off-duty Atlanta police officer Jonathan Sutton and his friend, off-duty security guard Evans Chad Pollard.

“And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger...”
From the days before Samuel L. Jackson became a racist mouthpiece and did mail it in movie roles.
My father used to me about two “stupid crooks” who tried to rob a local bar and grille. Turns out it was the after hours cop hang out. The story is that one had a shotgun the other a pistol. The burst in and told everyone to freeze. For a moment, nobody moved. Then EVERYONE pulled and presented. The crooks just did a dumb look and put their guns on the floor.
The article says no charges have been filed against the cop. That sounds like that part is still open and being looked into. That is garbage.
A robber comes in and points a gun at them and an off duty cop shoots him. What is to investigate? It’s too bad he didn’t kill the robber. It says he shot the robber twice from five feet away. Why is the robber still alive? If I had two shots from five feet, he would be dead, two in the chest to make sure I hit the chest and the next one in the brain.
Wow so a guy in a hoodie was planning to commit a crime. Gee that’s weird.
Yes but Clayton County is Clayton County.
Why couldn’t the security guard shoot the gun out of the robber’s hand?
Happens all the time on da TV!
Atlanta is NOT Chicago!
There are parts of south Fulton that are close, brother. If you are white you just don’t go there. You just . . . don’t.
OKay.
OKay.
“Wow so a guy in a hoodie was planning to commit a crime.”
A tip off-—
Hot weather in Atlanta (even at night) and they’re wearing “hoodies”.
Wonder if they’ll put their “hoodies” over parkas, t-shirts and long-johns in winter to commit crime.
Gale: All right, ya hayseeds, it’s a stick-up. Everybody freeze. Everybody down on the ground.
Feisty Hayseed: Well, which is it, young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if’n I freeze, I can’t rightly drop. And if’n I drop, I’m a-gonna be in motion. You see...
Gale: Shut up!
Feisty Hayseed: Okay then.
“So far, there are no reports Pollard will face any charges for defending against the attack.”
Pollard was the security guard who shot the robber; Sutton was the cop who couldn’t get to his gun. I wonder if he had an ankle holster?, or was pinned in the booth somehow? Doesn’t elaborate.
2:00 AM at a Waffle House. What are the odds there is going to be a cop there? I say, pretty good.
Good thing the shooter was Black or it would have been racist profiling.
Couldn’t the shooter have simply remained in his car? No one would have been shot.
Now we have a young man with a promising career with a record and in the hospital as a final insult. Terrible waste.
Since the above is so much like what the AP will report as Gods honest truth news, here is my sarcasm OFF warning.
I hope the AP doen’t charge me with plagarism before the fact.
Unless you are armed to the teeth.
A Waffle House would be around the bottom of the list of places I’d go to start trouble!
“I have a gub.”
What would possess anyone to rob a Waffle House? I would imagine it’s a fav hangout of cops and concealed carry permit carriers.
Trying to rob a Waffle House?
Is nothing sacred any more?
