He doesn't like overt patriotism, downplays images that include American symbols, and says our best approach is to be less America. I see.

It's only a matter of time before they start having "special exhibits" about how the US really caused 9/11.

So? Let’s all sit around and grouse. That should teach him a lesson.

This is the result of a multi-generational attack on any sense of a rooted American identity. It flows from the success of Leftists in Academia, first disparaging American ethnic pride & values in prestige universities, leading in turn to a corruption of the mass media & local education, across the continent.

To really grasp what has been going on, see Myths & Myth Makers In American "Higher" Education.

To better grasp the compulsion that those attacking American patriotism & ethnic pride, exploit: Compassion Or Compulsion?.

As most here at Free Republic understand very well, America is not disintegrating by accident, old-age or any natural cause. We are being systematically undermined by Leftist agitators, crack-pot theorists & compulsion driven neurotics at war with Nature & the Creator. American Independence & the legal & cultural achievements of the Founding Fathers are the target; our future aspirations, in our native lands, the spoils.

“the way America will look best, the way we can really do best, is to not be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently
how often people speak words without thinking

Amazing how often people speak words without thinking about them first.
Less amazing is how often those words are just nonsense..

I know quite a lot of people like Mr. Shulan. They assume that by disdaining their Americanism they are transcending it. In fact, they aren’t even living up to it. That doesn’t take the superior smirk off their faces, but it’s a fact.
