The 9/11 museum directors revulsion at patriotism is part of a larger collapse in national confidence.
By Charles C. W. Cooke
History shows that great and dominant societies can survive a great number of awful things without succumbing to collapse, but that they rarely outlast the gradual disintegration of national self-confidence. With this in mind, consider the words of one Michael Shulan, who really believes that the way America will look best, the way we can really do best, is to not be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently. Mr. Shulan, who is the creative director of the 9/11 Memorial Museum, also expressed his distaste at what he called the rah-rah America instinct.

It's only a matter of time before they start having "special exhibits" about how the US really caused 9/11.
So? Let’s all sit around and grouse. That should teach him a lesson.
Schulan should be hung in the museum by that stupid scarf the commie fruitcake.
To really grasp what has been going on, see Myths & Myth Makers In American "Higher" Education.

As most here at Free Republic understand very well, America is not disintegrating by accident, old-age or any natural cause. We are being systematically undermined by Leftist agitators, crack-pot theorists & compulsion driven neurotics at war with Nature & the Creator. American Independence & the legal & cultural achievements of the Founding Fathers are the target; our future aspirations, in our native lands, the spoils.

how often people speak words without thinking
Amazing how often people speak words without thinking about them first.
Less amazing is how often those words are just nonsense..
I know quite a lot of people like Mr. Shulan. They assume that by disdaining their Americanism they are transcending it. In fact, they aren’t even living up to it. That doesn’t take the superior smirk off their faces, but it’s a fact.
I shun idiots like this shulan moron. They aren’t worth the time of day. They are worth inconveniencing and ridiculing, however.
