RUSH: There was something in the New York Times Magazine over the weekend. This has, within its own universe, created a firestorm. It's about hooking up in college. I have the headline right here. Let me see the second page here. "Sex on Campus: She Can Play That Game, Too." This is a long piece. It's like 4,000 words, this New York Times Magazine piece.
It's a long piece on how there isn't any dating anymore, as you and I understand it. It's just no-emotion sexual hookups, and they are perfunctory at that. Not any attachment whatsoever. It's written by... Well, I don't know who wrote it. It's a female, but I don't have her name here. Strange, it never prints. But here's how it starts: "At 11 on a weeknight earlier this year, her work finished, a slim, pretty junior at the University of Pennsylvania did what she often does when she has a little free time.
"She texted her regular hookup -- the guy she is sleeping with but not dating. What was he up to? He texted back: Come over. So she did. They watched a little TV, had sex and went to sleep. Their relationship, she noted, is not about the meeting of two souls. 'We don't really like each other in person, sober,' she said, adding that 'we literally can't sit down and have coffee.' Ask her why she hasn't had a relationship..."
This is the University of Pennsylvania, by the way. It's major, big time, powerful, quasi-Ivy League school. "Ask her why she hasn't had a relationship at Penn, and she won't complain about the death of courtship or men who won't commit. Instead, she'll talk about 'cost-benefit' analyses and the 'low risk and low investment costs'

“New Normal” - now she just has to figure out a way to get pregnant.
Instead, she’ll talk about ‘cost-benefit’ analyses and the ‘low risk and low investment costs’
Yeah, no mention of the “High Maintenance...”
Hey, she might have a point! Herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, genital warts, etc. will be covered for free under Obamacare! /sarcasm
It's only about women having random sex in college.
I thought this was about the horrors that would happen if women started driving on a regular basis.
Women won the “Gender Wars”
I did too. Thank God it was only sex! (Shuddering)
Does it cover buttwarts too?
Best thing in there is Rush calling Penn a “quasi Ivy League” school.
Nice victory. Women, meet King Pyrrhus...
It sounds like a fun idea for a young woman, while she is young and fresh. But the ticking clock is not her friend, and the guys who date the ‘used’ aging women are from the broken toy store.
And to think when I was a freshman in 1967 at a state college in Minnesota, the big news item was that the new 12 story highrise dorm was going coed. The first six floors for men and the remaining six floors for women. Shocking!!
I seriously doubt that. Damn few guys no matter how horny would want to touch that piece of filth
You bet. I know several career women who had revolving doors on their bedrooms when in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s. Now the revolving door has rusted shut and they fight each other for the scrapings of the bottom of the barrel. Women's Liberation, indeed.
BWAHAHAAAAHAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAA!
Un. of Pennsylvania. Figures!. I went to Temple at a time when you had traditional dating and I think we were glad that we did.
Even married my TU girl-friend.
There was no massive STD epidemic, no drug use (except for one little shit who apparently was the local marijuana supplier - Ken, rest in Hell for destroying a nice young woman), and people were nice to each other.
If you read this article in a larger context, it gives you a good insight into why both men and women today are so screwed up, mentally, socially, politically.
The “family” doesn’t mean much any more to the Left/Liberals, so the children suffer, the family suffers, religion suffers, and society suffers.
Spoiled college kids are NOT the future of America. I put my faith in returning US combat veterans and their support staff who know what the real world is like, what is worth fighting for/preserving (including family, freedom and religion), and who have a respect for their fellow warriors regardless of race, sex, religion, or ethnic background.
As John Belushi said in “Animal House” about a college education, “There goes 7 years of school down the drain”.
Some people need to be flushed because a cesspool is the only place that they seem to fit in.
Wharton School?
“But the ticking clock is not her friend, and the guys who date the used aging women are from the broken toy store.”
In the marriage game, the best get grabbed up early.
But in my experience, it’s the younger MEN who generally don’t see the benefit in marriage, not younger women.
