...Now that the prosecution's case against Zimmerman is in, as a legal matter, I just don't see how a jury convicts him of second degree murder or even manslaughter in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
So what happened? How can an armed man who shot and killed an unarmed teen after being told by the police that he didn't need to keep following him, likely be found not guilty of those crimes?
I certainly sympathize with the anger and frustration of the Martin family and doubt that a jury will accept the entirety of George Zimmerman's account as credible. But based on the legal standard and evidence presented by prosecutors it is difficult to see how jurors find proof beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn't self defense.
Prosecutors are at a distinct legal disadvantage.

Any record of that we can access???
Danke....would love to have been the proverbial fly.
I would love to see Rev Al Sharpton arrested for inciting violence — along with all the other that joined in in calling for vigilantism against Zimmerman.
I do hope that some of those peeps eventually face lawsuits for publishing addresses of Zimmerman and/or Zimmerman’s family.
Nope — the depositions won’t be made public until after the trial but he will be sweating hollow points on the stand this week.
She has committed numerous reversible errors, as well as a questionable judicial demeanor. She’s an Ito-wannabe. Even if Zimmerman is convicted, this is still far from over.
He wasn’t “told by the police to stop following him” and I wish that those 97% of commentators and reporters who keep telling that lie would just stop! Unless they’re trying to incite race riots, that is. If so, keep on at it, I guess. And even if that were the truth it’d have no bearing on this case at all.
Not a capitol case: Not committed in the Rotunda in DC or Tallahassee.
Don't mean squat.
In a court of law, "truth" is what you can convince a judge or jury of...facts of reality have absoluitely NOTHING to do with it.
I found this 2006 piece by Mark Geragos very interesting. It deals with the effect of media on “supersized trials”

He does a good job in laying out the problems. Not so much as far as a solution.
Leni
Because she will might identify with mixed race Zimmerman?
He’s got a nice background pic on twitter. Someone with a laptop lounging by a pool.
Who else was in the mayors meeting. They should all be deposed individually. Show Em how it’s suppose to be done
I’m assuming the defense is going to call the witnesses from the apartment complex who saw Trayvon on top of Zimmerman, beating the crap out of him.
Sybrina listed them on the stand for O’Mara —
We’ll see who takes the stand because that meeting was a violation of Zimmerman’s civil rights by a whole lot of attorneys and city officials.
Here is CTH’s latest info. No one but the lawyers know what went on in the deposition. They don’t do that in public.
BUT, there is the audio of the DEE DEE interview at the website. It is the ABC copy which is allegedly the FULL INTERVIEW and much clearer than the one Crump gave to the Prosecutor’s to use.
Benjamin Crump Deposition Thread (two videos to understand) the plan was, and the introduction to Dee Dee
I’ve’ watched the first video, now on to the second one.
He is going to escape a miscarriage of justice. To "walk" implies that he did something wrong. George Zimmerman is a hero who spared the world of the murders and illegitimate children to be committed and sired by St. Trayvon.
Backwards. It is the baby momma who only showed up at the end. Crayon was raised by his father.
Don’t put it past the prosecution telling the 6 female jurors: either you convict for murder or you and your families will suffer consequences.
Don’t believe for one second they wouldn’t use subtle intimidation and threats.
That’s how kangaroo, lynch mob courts operate, and we’ve already seen firsthand what dirtbags the prosecution and judge are.
