Former CNN morning show host Soledad O’Brien will be joining Al Jazeera America as a special correspondent, the network announced Monday.

O’Brien will contribute short-form segments to Al Jazeera America’s current affairs magazine program “America Tonight,” and her production company Starfish Media Group will produce hour-long documentary specials.

Actually, I sort of agree with them on that one. Consider the case where you bet on a football game. You determine that you think one team will win and you wish to bet on them. The bookie will determine the likelihood of that team winning (i.e. his risk level in taking the bet) and adjust the payout accordingly. If you are right, you get paid. If not, the bookie keeps your money.

Now consider purchasing a life insurance policy. You are concerned that you might die early and leave your loved ones unprepared so you decide you wish to purchase a policy that pays you if you die. In essence you are betting on your own death, you "win" if you die. The insurer (the bookie in this case) checks his amortization tables and the results of your physical to determine his risk level and rather than adjusting the payout amount he adjusts the amount you have to pay to get that amount. That is, he sets the amount of the bet instead of the payoff. It amounts to the same thing though, he's taking a bet and setting the odds.

All that said, this government has basically told Christians to jump off a cliff if they have a problem with public funding of things like embryonic stem cell research, abortion, and contraceptives. Why should Muslims be any different? Oh wait, they will riot and kill people. Never mind, I get it.

Say what you will Freepers but Al Jazeera is providing in depth coverage of the protests in Egypt. Where is the MSM? I have watched Al Jazeera when ever there is a crisis in the Middle East and they are more accurate than the MSM. If I have the facts I can make my own decision.
