Today, June 28th, is DAY #15 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case. [Yesterday] … it was simply not a very good day at all for the prosecution. The primary State witnesses today were Rachel Jeantel, Jenna Lauer, and Selma Mora.

The first had her credibility substantively destroyed, the second was powerfully–almost humiliatingly–co-opted by the defense, and the third provided testimony entirely consistent with the defense’s theory of lawful self-defense. (continue reading)

Officer Chris Serino is expected to take the stand today. The state is in trouble if he does and in trouble if he doesn't. The same with the most credible witness to the beatdown -- John.

She mumbles deliberately so that later she can deny that she said what she said and/or reinterpret it. It is her way of controlling others. Look at how many people she has hanging on her every word — even excusing her lies.

With a row of townhouses facing the area from either side, there were a bunch of people in a position to hear something going on. It's just that nobody came out to help.

West screwed up. He should have had a spanish and creole interpretter show up and start talking in those languages. I bet “DeeDee couldn’t speak either.....and she would further impeach herself.

All of the witnesses keep referring to John who actually came out and saw Zimmerman on the bottom getting beat up — and yet the state is reluctant to call him to the stand because he will undermine their whole case just like so many other witness have done.

Even though DD didn’t have the vocabulary to describe the sound of wet grass, it is likely the earliest witness to hear the scuffle and the squeak of shoes on the pavement and grass cleared up the mystery of wet grass

The prosecution should be reprimanded for interviewing her with TM mother present. What can be done to them ? Anyone? Anyone?

Yesterday’s thread was a classic—a bright spot in a dark day when 2/3rds of the US Senate became Senators from Mexico.

When I hear TV talking heads sputter how the trial is going swimmingly against Z, I laugh, and wonder, what the heck trial they are watching?

I believe the MSM is trying to prep the low-information voters out there that Z will be found guilty, and if by any obscure chance he is not, then mayhem must ensue.

What I like about these live threads is the back and forth between Freepers, looking at things from all sides.

It is far more objective than anything I see on TV.

Barring some sort of OJ-esque jury nullification, it should take under 5 minutes to find Zimmerman not guilty.

Everything seems to be going swimmingly for the defense, except for on thing. The Rack, I mean the Colombian woman, said she thought the guy on top was wearing black and orange. It was so dark, I’m wondering if she could have been mistaken, or maybe she caught a glimpse of the two when GZ rolled TM off of him and was in the process of getting up. Hope this doesn’t become problematic.

I was thinking the same thing.

I do speak Kreol as a result of living in Haiti for a number of years. She likely knows some words but I expect her primary language is her already demonstrated version of miami-ghetto-english.

I’ll bet she is back on the stand later in the trial and a Creole interpreter is there as well.

How long was it after the phone call cut off that you then heard the words: “get off, get off”.

I would have liked to have heard her answer and we still may.

There must be a written procedure for conducting such interviews. Have the people who conducted the interview testified? If not, will the defense call them?
