JUDGE ANDREW NAPOLITANO: I would describe this man as an American hero, as a person willing to risk life, limb and liberty in order to expose to the American people one of the most extraordinary violations of the American principles, value judgments and the Constitution itself in all of our history.
A person so familiar with the intelligence community, as you just heard from the excerpts that you just played. He's aware of the personal danger to himself. He knows of the likelihood of prosecution. But he also understands that the government listening to half the country is not what was bargained for when statues were enacted in the days and weeks after 9/11...

I rest my case:

Actually, Snowden was a Ron Paul voter.
Yes, I am well aware of that. However, as I said in a previous post, any guy like Ron Paul who corrals support from Code Pink has followers that are liberal, demented, or both.
The ‘messenger’ didn’t have a message ~ you are making things up in your mind you’d like to think he’d said ~ guy’s a Chicom spy. Live with it.
Again, misuse of the term ‘government’ to mean ‘current ruling clique’ ~ no, my government isn’t at war with me, or you. Are you Brits all that po’d about what NSA was doing in the UK? Remember, we ended up needing to put our forces there for more than half a century due to the inability of Europeans to self-govern.
He said he had hope in Obama ~ whether he pulled the lever or not, that right there targets him as being mentally unbalanced.
So why do you do that?
And, what about the Chicom and other efforts in the same game ~ doesn't it bother you that someone who claims to be an important 'expert' in this matter has flown the coop and ended up with the Chicoms? Does that have no meaning for you?
I still think the Detroit problem was more costly than HIss. There you had the Young family directly on the payroll of the USSR's politboro ~ and Andrew and his friends were running that city in the ground. The personnel director at the post office was in a curious position as well. A Young relate (Andy's brother I believe) he knew all the used up defectors sent there. Detroit was where the gub'mnt employed them! A number of them were engineers so they fit right in the postal lab maintained at that site.
When 'mail covers' were run, the letters were routed to Detroit ~ Paul Carlin can tell you about that practice ~ so whoever we were interested in was immediately revealed, through Young and double agent defectors, to the KGB.
Interestingly enough one of the revelations made during this news cycle was that all letter mail which requires sortation is actually photographed ~ and I can imagine all sorts of reasons why that would be done ~ stopping anthrax and other chemical attacks from spreading is a good one ~ but those 'covers' create metadata of use to...... who?
The lab is in the DC area these days, but do we still send defectors over there to work? The same old same old could be underway in that quarter and yet no one cares but me?
you should see democraticunderground and huffingtonpsot in the comments , they are bash in edward snowden and callimg him a traitor(because he hurt the mighty obama)
Ok, fair enough. But, I can also tell you that I "believed in Bush's promises too", and look what he gave us.
All of your points will still apply, however, you can't win any of those points without first winning the stated battle, or at least reversing its trend. For if you don't win, or begin to make a dent in this new battle, you will lose all of those points you mention.
So, we first need to accept allies in our fight to win this battle, for if we do not win this battle, we will surely lose everything else.
When and if the REAL story on Benghazi comes out, it will take down the whole lot of them. Unfortunately, we are dealing with a vastly uneducated populace, but if you prove to people this administration was knowingly and covertly arming AL QAEDA, it all comes tumbling down......and its a lot more complicated than that.
What!? — He's been sounding the alarm on government overreach for years now; this PRISM incident isn't lawful, in fact it's proof that the 4th, 5th, and possibly 6th Amendments are dead, dead, dead. It's certainly proof that the government is utterly unbound by the constraints of the Constitution and the Tree of Liberty is thirsty.
It’s pretty obvious you live under a Parliamentary system, and not the US federal republic with division of powers, states, etc. Seriously. Use American terminology.
I do that every time somebody decides to turn from God and worship a felon. Just my nature I guess. Now, read about his pole dancing girlfriend at: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3029928/posts Also covers his salary ~ it wasn’t $200,000 per year.
“No pegging involved, just thought he would find the article interesting, because he is often a thoughtful poster. He replied with a similar article at #101.”
Oh my, I overestimated your post. I thought you were being insightful....my bad!!
You may need your friends someday. Best not to lose them over a simple difference of opinion. FR used to be a site for reasoned discussion, but seems to have become a site for mutual destruction of allies, splintering of efforts, and quite discourteous to boot. The founders had differences of opinion far greater than what this site contains, but found ways to work together.
Sorry I can’t be insightful enough to meet your criteria. But please keep in mind we’re on the same side.
Yeah real hero. Takes national secrets and divulges them in a communist country.
