Edward Snowden, the self-revealed whistle-blower at the National Security Agency, explains that part of the reason he decided to come forward was because President Obama did not roll back the surveillance measures put into place by the Bush Administration.
“A lot of people in 2008 voted for Obama. I did not vote for him. I voted for a third party,” Snowden said in an i nterview with the Guardian. “But I believed in Obama’s promises. I was going to disclose it [but waited because of his election]. He continued with the policies of his predecessor.”
Snowden acknowledged that he watched Obama struggle as he attempted to justify the surveillance programs during his press conference on Friday.

You know, I actually WOULD have believed that the government wouldn’t use data it acquired illegally or unethically.
Until the IRS scandal, of course. Isolated incident? “Rogue” employees? Sure, yeah, whatever. The problem is, that there will ALWAYS be “rogues”...

I just watched the video on The Guardian website.
I hope this guy has miles and layers of political insulation. He’s going to need it, not only from his former employers and their employers, etc., but from foreign entities, as well.
He sounded rather naive about world affairs. There are several nations who do not play nice, especially if they want to try to extract the kind of information and knowledge Mr. Snowden possesses.
He’s young. And the product of an entire schooling experience controlled by the communists and their union thugs.
Someone like that is demonstrably unreliable regarding matters of national security!
I believed the program was used under Bush to find terrorists as in Islamic terrorists, but this administration considers anyone pro-life, or that believes in the constitution or small gov’t to be terrorists. Then top that with the IRS and EPA treatment of conservatives, I don’t trust them either.
