As of this moment, Obama is making the case that the US government is not eavesdropping on phone calls. Specifically, he said "nobody is listening to your phone calls - they are just looking at phone numbers and duration of calls" and concluded that the NSA was only engaged in "modest encroachments." It was unclear if that clarification was meant to put to rest fears that Big Brother has made personal privacy a thing of the past. He further went on to add that the telephone surveillance program is fully vetted by Congress and supervised by the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA). In other words: Obama is making the case that the NSA's Big Brother supervision is perfectly legal and not only that, there are checks and balances and neither the telephonic snooping nor the internet supervision is anything to be concerned about. There is one problem: Obama is lying.

The inescapable outcome of a series of “modest encroachments” is absolute tyranny. So even if Obama is telling the truth (he isn’t) he is still informing us of his ultimate intentions.

I wonder how much longer will it be until the majority of republicans and democrats step up to save this country that many of us love. I do realize some in this country desire to have nationalism as their new government though, I think the majority desire freedom as did many before us. Be prepared; plan and pray that both sides help one another to stop the takeover.

I imagine that “technically” he is not lying. The phone calls are probably put through a voice to text process and then sifted for key works. So no one is listening but many are reading.

NOPE —just the first level of intercept is the metadata. While it’s very rare for them to dig any deeper than that, that doesn’t mean that option isn’t open to them.
If they chose to, they CAN peer into the content of the call.
How many are comfortable with them simply having the TECHNICAL ABILITY?
