The reasons you have supported the Boy Scouts of America for more than 103 years have not changed. We will continue to be a leader in youth development and our Scouts will continue to be committed to their communities. With more than 2.6 million youth members, last year Scouts collected over seven million pounds of food for the hungry and contributed more than 13 million hours of service to their communities, and more than 57,000 Scouts earned the rank of Eagle – our largest class ever.
After embarking on months of comprehensive discussion and receiving an outpouring of support and feedback, the Board of Directors and key members of local council leadership voted on the following resolution:
Youth membership in the Boy Scouts of America is open to all youth who meet the specific membership requirements to join the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Sea Scout, and Venturing programs. Membership in any program of the Boy Scouts of America requires the youth member to (a) subscribe to and abide by the values expressed in the Scout Oath and Scout Law, (b) subscribe to and abide by the precepts of the Declaration of Religious Principle (duty to God), and (c) demonstrate behavior that exemplifies the highest level of good conduct and respect for others and is consistent at all times with the values expressed in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone. (emphasis added by SoFloFreeper)
The result of their vote determined that the Boy Scouts of America would adopt this resolution effective January 1, 2014. While we understand you may not agree with this decision we appreciate your continued support and dedication to Scouting and our young people.

A sad business. We went to the ceremony honoring one of my grandsons who became an Eagle Scout last year, and we were hoping that his younger brother would soon earn the same award.
Now, I don’t know what to think.
But I agree. I certainly would not reply favorably to that letter. And I doubt whether I will donate anything more to them.
I gave up on the Girl Scouts some time ago, and now it looks as if the Boy Scouts are following them down the drain. A great pity. A great tradition has been destroyed.
Man, even their timing stinks.
They never figured they would lose more than Untied Way threatened to yank, did they.
Well, Christian America should remember that Boy Scouts never, ever was their roots. Boy Scouts at best was a greenhouse. The Lord Himself is their roots and if they have gotten careless about it and given that role to cultural icons, this serves as a great reminder that it was wrong. God does not permit evil things to happen for no good reason.

Some of us felt the exact same way during the last election.
Our local troop was having a take home dinner event. The last one was very successful. Drove by earlier this evening, it was dead. I suspect given this is not a big fag loving area, their new ideas did not go over well in the community.
Someone earlier said it well, because of the support they thought they were losing from the corporate fags, they decided to change their policies, all for 30 pieces of silver. Enjoy.
I mean, except for the part about inviting queers to prey upon your children, nothing has changed.
I gave the local Scouts grief when they came trolling for their annual food drive last year...told them no donations for even CONSIDERING allowing queers into the organization...this year should be extra-interesting. :-)

The Boy Scouts was one place where the sexualization of children had no place. Now, that is all they have left as a mission.
Pleasing 3% of the population at the expense of the remaining 97% is a mistake of epic proportions. Specific to the BSA, a more accurate percentage would be less than 1% at the expense of the +99%.
How does the Marxist police state ensure it never meets with resistance or a revolt? Turn all boys into girls and this is also what the schools are doing; That is what the 'anti-bullying' campaign is all about. Taking the 'fight' out of boys.

The Boy Scouts, could have played it smart, as I once proposed, and played on the euphemism “gay”. Yes, we accept gay Boy Scouts, but we won’t tolerate pederasts! Who controls the language, controls the reality!
