The Boy Scouts of America's National Council has voted to ease a long-standing ban and allow openly gay boys to be accepted as Scouts.

I did some checking - here is what I found out [I only included the regular Boy Scouts, not Cubs, Explorers, etc.]:
1. About 50% of Scout parents DO NOT want gay admission [thats not to say that the other 50% do - I do not have that data].
2. 56% of the actual Boy Scouts DO NOT want gay admission.
3. 60% of the troops are church-affiliated. There are about 40,000 total troops nationwide. Thats about 24,000 church-sponsored troops. If even only 50% of the 24,000 leave, thats 12,000 troops gone.
4. There are about 800,000 Boy Scouts nationwide - with an average of 20 Boy Scouts per troop. If 50% of the 24,000 troops in Item 3 leave, thats 240,000 Boy Scouts gone.
5. The BSA and its Regional Councils employ about 4,000 full-time staff. All things being equal, that could mean a loss of 1200 jobs - using the data from Items 3 and 4.
This means that there are gonna be less facilities - such as the week-long camps that I used to go to in the summer. For example, if a lot of troops leave in NC and WV - then the local Councils might not be able to support their camps. This leaves them going to Goshen in VA. But, Goshen already hosts troops from DC, MD, AND VA. NC and WV might become SOL ...
I wonder how long it will be before they vote to rescind the new gay policy? SCOTUS has previously ruled that the BSA is a private organization and that it can make and rescind rules as it likes.

Do you happen to have a "Young Marines" detachment in your area? They are very good -- many similarities to the original Boy Scouts, although it is coed (but with very good supervision during campouts, etc.). The organization does not state that it excludes homo youth, but believe me, there is no homo advocacy! You can say that again!
That person is in deep denial. The next step will be gay scoutmasters. The arguments they give are “your making garbage up” and “spewing nonsense”. None of what you said is “garbage” or “nonsense”. As with marriage: from an article at the Illinois Family Institute website lesbian activist Masha Gessen says

The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change. And again, I don’t think it should exist.
Anyone facing the truth knows the same methods are being used on the Boy Scouts. RIP.
The fact that there is around 2.5 million kids plus a million adult volunteers - the overwhelming vast majority are not going to quit because of this change. It's just not going to happen. So yeah, the Boy Scouts will go on. Pointing out that the Boy Scouts aren't going to implode because of this decision doesn't mean I support it - which I most certainly don't. They allow open homo's in the US military now too. Many people predicted a mass exodus from the services and a disaster for the US armed forces. It didn't happen. The military goes on, patriotic American's still join. It was a harmful decision for the services and the people in it, but it didn't destroy the system.
What would the men of America in 1912 have done if faced with this? I’m serious. It’s hard to even contemplate how far we’ve sunk but I would like to know what they would have done. One hundred years of gradually wearing down the Christian men in our society, passing laws to prevent people from assembling with like minded/like cultured people as they wish. I’m fed up!
We’ve allowed filthy rotten evil people to take over our country, and I just want to SECEDE and form a NEW CHRISTIAN nation. With a more explicit statement of the God given rights of Christians to be added to a new constitution, and rights of each state to run things as they see fit.(i.e. if Texas wanted to say NO WELFARE we could do it.)
I believe some of the civil rights laws of the 1960s were the tipping point of where Christian Americans were hog tied on the ability to assemble with whom they pleased without fear of lawsuits and intimidation from weirdos and fringe groups. Man this makes me angry.

It’s not the place for BSA to qualify the sexuality of minors. There should be NO policy that establishes recognition of “openly gay boys”. That’s #ing weird.
I predict that within 5 years, the Boy Scouts will no longer exist. BTW, I think that the members of the National Council that voted for this change should suffer for their actions...

22.5 percent of United States Air Force Academy cadets were involved in Scouting as youth.
11.9 percent of cadets are Eagle Scouts.
25 percent of United States Naval Academy (Annapolis) midshipmen were involved in Scouting as youth.
11 percent of midshipmen are Eagle Scouts.
189 members of the 113th Congress participated in Scouting as a youth and/or adult leader. 27 are Eagle Scouts.
18 current U.S. governors participated in Scouting as a youth and/or adult volunteer. Four are Eagle Scouts.

I’m an Eagle Scout, a current leader in a troop (Assistant Scoutmaster), and my son is a Star scout. On Tuesday, we will be no longer be members of the Boy Scouts of America because of this policy change. This is longer no the organization we originally joined.
The context of “Scout” becomes ominous.
And sadly the brownshirts will be back to demand more concessions in the future.
