Kaitlyn Hunt’s parents insist that their daughter, a Central Florida high school senior, is being prosecuted for sex crimes only because her lover was another girl. The state attorney says that gender makes no difference; the age of the two girls is at the crux of the case.

Just before Christmas, they had a sexual encounter in a bathroom at Sebastian River High School. They had at least one more encounter there, according to the affidavit, and one in Ms. Hunt’s bedroom in January after the 14-year-old, a freshman, ran away from home.
The younger girl’s parents went to the police after learning from a coach, school employees and students that their daughter was having a relationship, according to a report from the Indian River County Sheriff’s office. The parents’ information led to the investigation.

maybe to fill space that otherwise would have presented real investigative journalism stories informing the American public about real issues of major significance ?
The video I saw in the Miami story was of the mother of the adult predator....all upset that her little one, the one who had SEX WITH A FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL IN THE BATHROOM, might suffer the legal consequences her actions.
Of course she WAS offered a plea deal.....
Why is my underwear not in a twist here? And what difference does it make if they’re gay? They are both students at the same high school. I don’t see any predation occurring here. Did you know the Executive branch is trying to take away your civil liberties? Why does this local school matter concern you? Priorities.
An 18 yr old and a 14yr old, both students had sex? Hardly a unique occurrence and hardly a case of a predator.
If it was a cute 26 yr old female teacher and a 14 yr old boy you’d be yelling not guilty.
They put it in the news to normalize perversion...the entire tone of the Miami tv story I saw was sympathetic to the adult who had SEX WITH A FOURTEEN YEAR OLD IN THE BATHROOM.

In a year, the senior would be in college, and coming back weekly for her ‘honey’. At 19 and 15, it might still be legal, but I think the authorities would have been asking for questions. One is adult, and the other is barely a teen.
Very good question from a legal perspective. As the old saying goes "14 will get you 20",what would that be in this case?
Marriage age for most of the United States was 13 until 1929. The country was formed and built with this age limit. A lot of everyone’s grandparents here marry under the age of 15 and had that marriages lasted. Not that I believe in marrying at 13 or 15 for that matter, but if that 18 year old girl was 17 years 11 months and 29 days this wouldn’t be a story. Common sense is not being applied to our laws. Pointing a finger in the shape of gun now gets 8 years arrested and psychiatric treatment.
This girl was only doing what she was taught. If you want to hold someone responsible go for the adults around her.
The rule in Florida says it is a problem when there are four or more years between the under age child and the other person regardless of gender.

Last year I was at a Wendy’s in NJ just across the bridge from Philly and 2 young lesbo girls (about 18-20 age) were slobbering all over each other in public. Had to bite my tongue as I desperately wanted to say something but felt it wasn’t my business to butt in (no pun intended).

No surprise here. Lots of ‘recruiting’ in girls’ sports, particularly at the high school level and above. So be careful parents. The sister of a good friend had to drop out of the volleyball team at ESU, because she couldn’t take being hit on constantly.

Actually we typically don’t make the call until at least 15, maybe 16. But, in principle, yep...in that case, she’s helping to prepare the guy for life.

This kills me, the lez wants a pass because she likes other girls. Makes no diff, the other girl is a minor. Predator laws don’t see people’s sexual orinitation.............or shouldn’t.
