I hope this person gets the maximum legal sentence. I also hope her supervisors who allowed this to go on for four years get fired. The article says she altered the receipts - but if her supervisors were too dumb to notice this, then they should not be allowed to work as supervisors at the IRS.

Wait, what hypocrites? You mean in some cases stealing from the American people to pay for whatever you want is wrong, but in other cases, it's wrong?

Usually government “workers” are given “further training” after promising not to do it again. She should be fired, imprisoned then deported...and maybe waterboarded.

Actually, she did it for four years without being detected.

We loves us some government oversight, don’t we?

“Yetunde Oseni”

going out on a limb to say she’s one of Obama’s daughters/Holder’s people.

Not only that, if she didn't report the value of the merchandise as income onher 1040, then she needs to pay interest and penalties at the IRS rate on the income that she failed to report.

I’ve audited these types of card programs before. The government has two main types of cards, travel and purchase. The travel card is like a credit card, where you get the bill and are responsible to pay it each time you charge. You get reimbursed through a voucher for your travel expenses, but you still have to pay it. The purchase card is automatically paid to the issuer of the card. The cardholder and an approving official (which is not supposed to be the direct supervisor to prevent collusion) are supposed to sign off on the purchases as legitimate. The data in the system they used should have identified the vendor, and all of those purchases should have been a red flag to any reviewer, based upon the companies she bought them from. No excuses.

What about the IRS insect in Floriduh who tried to blackmail her landlord for rent by threatening audits?

Any irregularities on expense account is a firing offense with me. It is clearly stated in the employment contract. Can ‘t be trusted with expense account = fired, immediately and be grateful you are not prosecuted for embezzlement. Sign a release or have charges filed against you... no negotiation.

I used a company credit card to buy a lawn mower at one time.

When I got home I looked at the receipt and realized I had used the wrong card. The next day I made it known to the company that I had made an error. No problems. And my card was charged later. By the way the company card had no limits on it, Halliburton! I was buying fuel with it for ships that were doing seismic exploration in the Gulf of Mexico - mega bucks when making a port call for fuel!

We should be really upset at Obama. He has essentially taken out a credit card of each one of us, in our names, which we are not allowed to use, while he charges tens of thousands of dollars that our grandchildren will be stuck paying after we all die.

In the real world that is called "identity theft," except that Obama gets to do it and we give him a pension and a house in Hawaii, if and when he leaves office.
