Tornado warnings up in Oklahoma. Watches in TX, OK, KS, MO, far NW Arkansas.
Excellent (but sad) picture dirtboy. One thing that everybody has to remember is that it doesn’t matter if your roof can hold up in 160 mph winds...can your roof hold up when a car or major portion of a tree hits it at 160 and opens up a big place for the wind to grasp onto?
From an old Ron White skit...”it’s not always THAT the wind blows..it’s sometimes WHAT the wind blows. Not trying to be funny at all - just something to think about.
“You have no idea what you are blathering about.”
So expressing an opinion on FR is forbidden? BTW, I lived through a tornado when it struck my house when I was 13, so my blathering may be a little bit more informed than you think.
I was merely wondering why they didn’t close the schools at noon, and I did not intend to upset anyone.
Freegards,
Pining
I am saying there was nothing notable about this tornado watch at the time it was issued. Your personal history with tornadoes has no bearing on that fact.
The NWS upgrade the severe risk to High at 4 pm. So there was some warning that things were going downhill in the forecast department.
Fine. I’ll call our local guy and tell him he was wrong for being right.
Please, just take it elsewhere. Your pointless point has been made ad naseum.
The fascist maggots will NEVER kill our spirit !
OK, I’m gone. :-)
Comments on wunderground.com are saying Channel 9 is reporting that 40-50 more are missing at the school.
Yes, I’ve heard that too.
Wouldn’t be surprising, but we can hope not.
Prayers
Thank you, Lauren. It was pretty tense till I heard from them. (((hugs)))
Thank you. 51 fatalities so far. Prayers to all the families affected by this monster storm.
In Tornado Alley, schools do not close for tornado watches, which can last for hours and occur on many days during tornado season. Watches mean that conditions are favorable and that’s the most they can predict. I’m not being flippant, but closing school for tornado watches would be akin to closing school because it may or may not hail.
Tornado warnings are issued at most 15-20 minutes in advance. There is only enough time to take shelter. There is not time to send children home.
Et tu, Buckeye?
That was just explained by the timeline of KFOR. They went from clear skies to a F5 in 1 hour. Also conjectured that this may turn out to be the costliest Tornado in world history.
Uhhh, I don't know if Johnny has answered you, but there is a protocol to be followed before you can set foot on Johnny's property. Without the protocol, you are dead. It's a pass “item” instead of pass “word”. Hopefully, he will let you know the pass “item”.
He also has to know you are coming, so he can put on pants.
Arrgghhhhh .... OK I give up. I was wrong. I will never speak again.
Well, let’s not get carried away here. :-)
What do you mean? I was very polite. No malice. No sarcasm.
