Hearing details:
WASHINGTON House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa today announced three witnesses who will appear at a full committee hearing, Benghazi: Exposing Failure and Recognizing Courage, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at 11:30 AM in 2154 Rayburn House Office Building.
I applaud these individuals for answering our call to testify in front of the Committee. They have critical information about what occurred before, during, and after the Benghazi terrorist attacks that differs on key points from what Administration officials including those on the Accountability Review Board have portrayed, said Issa. Our committee has been contacted by numerous other individuals who have direct knowledge of the Benghazi terrorist attack, but are not yet prepared to testify. In many cases their principal reticence of appearing in public is their concern of retaliation at the hands of their respective employers. While we may yet add additional witnesses, this panel will certainly answer some questions and leave us with many new ones.
Witnesses: Mr. Mark Thompson
Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism
US Department of State
Mr. Gregory Hicks
Foreign Service Officer and former Deputy Chief of Mission/Chargé dAffairs in Libya
US Department of State
Mr. Eric Nordstrom
Diplomatic Security Officer and former Regional Security Officer in Libya
US Department of State
In October 2012, the Oversight Committee held the first hearing on the Benghazi attacks, which exposed denials of security requests and forced the Administration to acknowledge that the attacks were not sparked by a protest of a YouTube video, contrary to claims made by Obama Administration officials.
*** NOTE: Press seating will be reserved, but limited. Please arrive early (hearing room will open to press at 10:30 AM) to guarantee a seat. An overflow area will be available. ***

Greg Abbott’s Petition for Special Prosecutor for Benghazi. FWIW-
When Gowdy summarized that Stevens was there because Hillary said it was important for him to be there.... and the security was reduced only because Hillary waived the standard requirements.... I was waiting for the connection of why Hillary wanted Stevens to be there unprotected.

This is Hick's account...
Darn...we need a “like” button! :)
And four Americans died.......because of political infighting within the administration??!!!!
Me too, I've read every post.
And MM - thank you again for keeping the faith and keeping what happened in Benghazi going on FR!!
Me too. That's still hanging in the air. More hearings will be necessary but this was a good start. GOP has some good members on this committee who seem to 'get it'. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
:)
—— Then he went right from giving out all of that misinformation to talking about Jason Collins, the gay NBA player...again. ——
Rush has definitely lost focus and interest. I suspect that he’s given up. Hopefully he’ll get back on his horse soon.
So..... the Democrats MAIN objection to the Hearing was that ONE of the witnesses refused to be interviewed by the Talking Head/Script Readers sent by the very people that left him to die, and told him to go look for a new job ?
I want it all vivisected live.
That's funny considering that Susan Rice [who when she speaks is speaking for Obama according to Biden] didn't come out with the statements until the day after the administration held their special meeting to decide which talking points they would push... wasn't that meeting arranged by Obama's national security speechwriter Ben Rhodes, the same guy who gave us the Obama Cairo speech and the administration's half baked Egypt policy of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt?
The statements were the admin official policy until they peed their pants.
Yes, they have wronged all of us. So, theoretically, I could forgive the harm they have done to me personally, but NOT the harm they’ve done to everyone else.
I’ll think about my forgiving when they stop their harming.
Thank you very much.
I wasn’t accusing you of anything - maybe I wasn’t clear? Or you mean them?
Hillary had no power and was absolutely a laughing stock as SOS from Day One. Heck, half the time Obama didn’t even pretend she mattered when he met or talked with foreign heads of state, and she was frequently sent off to trivial events in unimportant places just to get her out of the way. And in any case, she was certainly well enough placed to know that the Libyans actually didn’t have any “new found freedom,” but that Obama’s actions had put in place an even more dangerous new master, AQ allied “rebels.”
So no matter what she did, she was only doing it at BO’s orders.
I think his orders were to maintain the appearance of normalcy, you know, how we trust our Muslim brethren in the new, redeemed, Obama-friendly AQ, we don’t want them to get nervous because we’re armed, we don’t want to have our military there (they had a private British security company) because it might annoy the Muslims, etc., etc., etc.
I think she resigned in part because she got tired of being kicked around and in part because she realized that she was going to be blamed for the whole Benghazi thing, as if she were a rogue SOS who was busy undermining his sainted highness Obama.
Every single high-ranking person, either military or civilian, involved in any way with Benghazi has either been removed, reassigned or retired. It’s not just Hillary. That would be way too easy.
The fact that they wanted to make Benghazi a permanent mission is unfathomable. If the host government cannot adequately protect you, then you shouldn’t be there. It is a diplomatic axiom.
Truth be told it's more like hundreds. There's always a lot of 'political infighting' in Democrat/Socialist/Communist Administrations.
