Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords lambasted the 46 senators who voted against an ill-fated bipartisan proposal to expand background checks on firearms sales and vowed to continue her fight for tougher gun laws.
"Speaking is physically difficult for me," Giffords wrote in a New York Times opinion piece published online after the Senate rejected the compromise on Wednesday. "But my feelings are clear: I'm furious. I will not rest until we have righted the wrong these senators have done."
Giffords, a Democrat, was seriously hurt in a 2011 shooting that killed six and wounded 13. She and her husband, Mark Kelly, have been vocal advocates for stricter gun laws since the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, in December.

I don’t like Gabby Giffords. I was in her district. She was a lying scumbag liberal Pelosi-butt girl then, and hasn’t changed for the better.
And her husband is worse...
You know, I’m sorry she was shot ...it was a horrific incident to go through, no doubt. But she did receive likely the BEST medical care on the planet, and she survived and is now doing extremely well. She should thank her lucky stars she’s still alive and living in the greatest country in the world ...made great by steadfast adherence our Bill of Rights and Constitution.
That’s more than hundreds of thousands of others who have suffered and died in service of our country can say, EVER.
So SHADDDUP ALREADY, LADY!!!

Sorry, Gabs - the only wrong these Senators have done was to uphold the Constitution you’re trying to subvert. I’ll be blunt: catching a bullet from a left-wing nutcase gives you no moral standing at all. None.

So sad that our nation considers those that get shot or those who lost loved ones are automatically considered experts on our constitution and are more qualified to dictate our legislative course.
