You are so right. It is a shame he is letting his show deteriorate so. My mom blames his marriage, but I don’t know.
I think his (shanklin’s) parody’s are top notch.
Ditto.
I don’t really get het up when Rush goes on his Apple, golf, and football musings which could go on for a full segment or even take up an hour. Then I go about tuning out and doing other stuff.
But this Beyonce stuff had gone on and on and on and on and on.......And the Houston Oiler #1 song did me in as I’m from Houston. And being a Dallas Cowboy fan, I’d chuckle. But in my youth that song was torture! :)
Meh, seems like he’s off of choppy screwy. For now. Onto hour #2!
The only radio host that can even approach Rush on parody’s is Rusty Humphries.
I thing Rusty actually used to do parody’s for Rush in the early days.
Sean Hannity’s parody’s are just awful.
Mike Judge was 500 years off on “Idiocracy”.
Sean Hannity does parodies? I don’t think I’ve ever heard one.
I’d like to think that anyway. :)
Sounds like it’s good I missed the first hour. Glad to be here, though.
Well I am the one now setting up the thread, the thread cop would have to post to me and complain. :)
He thinks he is doing them.
He just plays some music and peppers it with sound bites and comments.
Just awful.
I agree with your mom.
"Is Mike Judge really saying that some people should breed and others shouldn't? Well, sort of. But he's also taking on the laziness and the self-absorption, and the materialism and the willful ignorance, of his own audience."
"Idiocracy challenges a central article of faith in American life, the notion that we are destined for moral, material, and intellectual progress. And what if things really are getting worse? What if, more to the point, we really are getting dumber? Recently there's been some troubling evidence that the arrow of intelligence is pointing downward."
Dang old Sequestration!
LOL
Ah, the Oilers’ Fight Song brought back the best of memories for me. As I told another poster, I sang the (admittedly hokey) song from the first note to the last and longed for the fun Luv Ya Blue days. And Rush was right about experiencing those days in the Dome. So, while I was not interested in all the pop culture stuff, the Oiler reference and tribute caught my ear.
Now I am jonesing for a rib eye sandwich and fries.
Arrghh! a Beyonce caller!
