The release of hundreds of illegal immigrants into a federal monitoring system this week may be an ongoing headache for the Obama administration, as Republicans focus their scrutiny on uncovering potential missteps.
Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, “will be aggressively examining the ramification of this decision,” according to a committee aide.
And Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.), the top Republican on the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on homeland security, pressed Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to take more responsibility for the releases, which she says she did not know about beforehand.
“I am concerned that you have chosen to distance yourself from the actions of ICE,” said Coats in a letter to Napolitano on Friday. “As Secretary of Homeland Security, you have a responsibility to oversee the proper management of the department’s resources. I believe you should have been on top of this situation and taken steps far earlier to prevent this action.”
Napolitano will undoubtedly be pressed on the issue when she comes to testify on cybersecurity next Wednesday before Rep. Mike McCaul’s (R-Texas) House Homeland Security Committee. ICE Director John Morton promised to answer McCaul’s letter to him earlier this week in which he raised questions about exactly how many detainees had been released and what tools ICE was using to track illegal immigrants, a committee aide said.

I may be nuts, but to me the denial by Napolitano and the White House that they did not know about this is just as bad as the release.
Do they really expect us to believe that some low on the totum pole beaucrat a-wipe who retired the next day took it upon himself to turn loose 2,000 illegals??

Taking her lead from the Obama/Clinton/Panetta denials of Benghazi she too will only claim to ‘look into it’ while in reality do nothing.
Given a few more weeks she, like Hillary, will be crying “What difference it make?”
But time is not on her side....these criminals are already planning new misdeeds. Pray that there is no loss of life until they are back in custody.
Obama anbd Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano continue the outrages against America in the hope that we will rebel so they can complete the takeover and destruction. They should be impeached for seditious behavior.
It’s already a scandal, with billions of dollars going down the tubes to support rapists, murderers, drug dealers, and drunken child-killers. And the press makes nothing of this enormous story.
Does anyone think that if one of these released illegals runs over a pregnant mother pushing a baby carriage, the press will bother to mention it?

Another committee, another investigation, another lengthy report and nothing will be done. The answer to this monstrosity is IMPEACHMENT and impeachment charges every time “O” opens his pie hole or signs an order.A dozen bills of impeachment a week would not be too many. Freepers, the USA as we knew it is rapidly circling the drain into historical oblivion. In 4 years, 2 if Obama has his way, it will be fait acompli’.

Everytime our side states this could be bad for obama but it never does, he gets away with it because of the media, the black population who thinks obama can do no wrong and a segment of the white population which have been dumbed down in school and now are zommbies, another segment which only cares about anal feces sex and an hispanic segment which wants to bring all their fmaily over and get some sort of handout
But Republicans may run into thorns of their own on the issue, as it was under President George W. Bush that the release program — known as Alternatives to Detention (ATD) — first began. Moreover, it was Congress itself that first mandated the ATD program’s initial creation in fiscal year 2002.As with everything else that goes bad, this is Bush's fault.
Americans should demand via Fax or phone of their elected that our LAWS be Obeyed....I am sure volunteer groups are readily available to assist law enforcement in our towns and cities....illegal entry into this country makes you a felon....some of Obama’s relatives are guilty of this but apparently our enforcers are just as lawless.....
This is just another story that will run under the radar. The low information voters don’t know about it and never will.
This is just spin-doctoring/meme-building/partisan media shilling — Zero made this happen, and everyone else took their cue from that and denied knowing it was going to happen because they figured he’d kick their battered remains under the bus if they were the last to say so. This isn’t tricky for the Republicans, because this isn’t the result of the sequester — but this “article” makes it seem so.
There won’t be ANY consequences for Zero. None. At all. We can be sure of this, because Fast and Furious has been, at best, back-burner for years, and F&F is obviously much worse. This story isn’t a story, because the media IS in the bag for him and his party.
Also, need I remind anyone, FR is a conservative site — the US obviously needs a border fence the full length with Mexico, and yet I only see a handful around here who support that, and when I yap about it, I lose friends. No point in having an illegals roundup unless the border is made real.

No controlling legal authority.
Congress can legislate,appropriate money and impeach but it does not have the power to enforce law. That belongs to the executive branch and that branch is unlikely to enforce any laws it does not choose to.
Not much better than an organized crime family.
