THANKS Jim & John for all you do. Here’s a funny. The last 2 years for Lent I gave up FR for 40 days. This year I chose something different - I still wanted to get my news. So FR goes down and withdrawal hits. Oh well, it’s all good.

Coming in late here, but I just want to say thanks for the hard work and the regular updates. It is SO good to have FR back.
re_nortex, I agree with you 100% about the format of this site. IMO it’s the best, bar none. All you have to do is sign in and, bam-—you have your posts and your mail in red at the top of the page. You don’t have to try and keep up with every post on a thread (unless you just want to). The convenience, ease, and clean design is perfect. I couldn’t care less about avatars and stuff like that.
JimRob, you and John deserve some serious rest and relaxation after all this. God bless you, sir.

I was so bored I stayed on a singles’ website and almost got engaged/married. FR came back just in time to pull me from the brink of disaster. Had to tell the guy FR was back so I had to leave.
Also, I can put the pain pill bottle back where it belongs. Taking one every two hours when I checked and FR was still down, will mess up your mind and you do crazy things, like a singles’ website.
(I really didn’t do either one of those things, maybe.)

Thank you for your kind words about my thoughts concerning Free Republic and I'm glad we're in agreement.
I must add that your post serves to confirm my impressions about the overall literacy and, well, just plain smarts of FReepers. If I could give you a gold star, I surely would for correctly phrasing the expression: couldn’t care less. While wandering the virtual desert over the past few days of Free Republic's downtime, I can't count how often I saw could care less on those lesser sites.
No I don't want to be a grammar Nazi and this is not a backhanded slam at those who both the idiom. Instead, your well-written response just reminds me of how well educated the vast majority members are here.
