I'm sure we've all seen by now the "photo op" of President Obama shooting skeet. If he's shooting skeet then I'm Daffy Duck.
Skeet [clay disks of bright colors] are thrown by a machine from two towers erected to the right and left of the shooter. (There are other set ups like ones used for "sporting clays" but that isn't represented in the White House photo release.) Usually, the skeet is thrown about ten or more feet above the ground. The shooters are arranged in a semi-circle at various stations around the semi-circle. The "group" of shooters lines up at one stage and each shoot in turn. They then move to the next station and shoot again. Each spot is designed for the shooter to shoot above the horizon. This is for safety and learning too that when in the field, a hunter never shoots a shotgun below the horizon. A small fact that Vice President Dick Cheney forgot when he wounded his hunting partner a few years ago. Skeet are then thrown either from right to left or left to right or both at once. It is very challenging and the shooter either uses a double barrel shotgun or a semi automatic shotgun. Each shooter is limited to two shots.

Unsure exactly what you mean, but I didn't know that you could port the gas on only one side.

Some really faked stuff in those two pictures.
(1) The first picture. Notice his line of sight from his eyes to the barrel of the gun. If you drew a line from where his eyes are to the rear of the barrel there is no way in hell for him to be aligned to the barrel. The gun is pointed up about 5 degrees and his line of sight is at -20 degrees from the level of the barrel.
(2) picture #2. On this particular shotgun the ports are on BOTH sides of the barrel...not one. Notice that the fake smoke is blowing out of the right set of ports and nothing is coming out of the left side of the ports. That indicates the good communist that doctored the photo knew absolutely nothing about the gun.
(3) The HUGE amount of smoke coming out of the gun is pure BS. I would expect that from a black powder gun but not from a standard cartridge. If you had a bunch of skeet shooters firing they would have to have a recess every 5 minutes to clear the air so they could see the targets.
This is a typical propaganda picture straight from the Ministry of Propaganda and the media.
I don’t think it was skeet, trap, or sporting clays, they just wanted a picture of him shooting a gun. Seeing no vest or pouch tells me it was a one pull of the trigger thing and let’s get the hell out of here. No doubt it was a dummy load to boot.
OK ... Here’s a google maps linky thingee. I cannot easily reconcile this phot to the ACTUAL skeet range at Camp David.
Go to the southern end of Camp David — the range is QUITE apparent.
There is a PARKING area behind positions 6 & 7, i.e., to the ‘right’ of the range.
I cannot see that asphalt path, and neither can I see any passel of vehicles indicating the TOTUS was there shooting with his buds ... and the Press.
The EXIF info indicates an F stop of F4, which indicates the photographer was not really very far from the subject, in decent light. That would account for the fairly short depth of field.
I STILL say that looks like a golf cart path in the background.

That was my guess. The Obama / MSM spin machine wanted a pic showing Obama shooting to diffuse / mask his anti-2nd amendment stance. This picture is too perfect. I can almost visualize the checklist that was developed for the picture.
The background is so devoid of identifying characteristics such as buildings, people, or shadows, that it makes it impossible to place where the picture was shot or when or who else was there to corroborate the picture.
OK ... supposing the REALLY were at a skeet range. (I am not a skeet shooter).
WHERE was the photographer standing? WHERE was Zero standing? AND WHERE was he aiming, base on his position, flight of target from low right or left?
Does the shot make sense as an action shot form the ACTUAL range at Camp David?

I am wait for the International Olympic Committee to award Obama a Gold Medal in Skeet Shooting.

Yep, it’s funny how this pic didn’t surface till after he lied about sport shooting.
Maybe its not a gun at all, maybe its a bong.
The description of skeet is lame and inaccurate.
If its true why is there just one pic and NO VIDEO!?
