Once again Sarah Palin is showing that she has no plans to play by the rules.
She has parted ways with FOX News after a turbulent relationship with the conservative cable news channel, taken pot shots at pundits in the 'lame stream media' and slammed her own party for selecting Mitt Romney as the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.
Now the former Alaska governor says she'll use the $1.2 million raised through her SarahPAC to 'shake up the GOP machine' and unveiled a vague vision on how she'll get her message out to a larger audience.
News broke on Friday night that she had not renewed her $1 million annual contract with FOX News, after three years as a contributor on Roger Ailes' network.
Palin then spoke out on Saturday, in an interview with Breitbart.com, saying that she was working to 'free up opportunities to share more broadly the message of the beauty of freedom and the imperative of defending our republic and restoring this most exceptional nation.'
Calling the future 'wide open' with opportunities, she shared how she plans 'to pick battles wisely, and all in due season' - hinting that she still has a fight left in her.
Her vision for the future coincided with the financial disclosure from her Political Action Committee, SarahPAC, with records released on Monday showing she ended 2012 with nearly $1.2 million in the bank.
She raised around $20,790 between Nov. 27 and Dec. 31 and spent $67,800 during that time period on expenses including consulting, speech writing and legal fees...

I saw her that way too. I still think she could be only time will tell.
In 2011 she read the tea leaves, saw the polls and knew she couldn’t win. It was obvious we would get Mitt as the conservatives ate each other alive, and then dropped out one by one. Don’t go into battle unless you know you can win.
I lived in Alaska for four years and don’t underestimate what she was able to do up there. The state may be low in population but their politics are tough.
I have been so angry at the capitulation of the GOP and the RINO candidates we end up with, that I would love to see her show them how things need to be done. Heck, I will probably donate to the cause.
LUV IT!
LUV IT!
Go Mesta!
Go Sarah!
I will use that pic in future mesta thank you :)
Yep! We were right all along and yet we did our best to help Romney.
We prayed and we voted.
Connie could really belt out the ballads and also sing with passion!
Thanks for “Who’s Sorry Now?” Really like that one!
Beautifully done MestaMachine!
Leader of the Pack!
Jim Robinson has posted that Free Republic is not a Republican site but is one for Conservatism and for grassroots activism. I don't think it's a matter of taking the Republican party back...no, it's time to take it over!
If that were 1.2 Billion, perhaps she could make a mark, but 1.2 million is a spit in the ocean in politics.
Barry wasn’t near the conservative that his mouth pretended to be.
Sarah maybe leader of the pack, but no in thanks to Sexist, Misogynists who masquerade as conservatives and second guess her at every turn.
They need to go back to the kids table, the grown ups are talking here :)
Love it! Smack sandwich :)
The GOP is our enemy, all pretense are now gone.
The sooner we realize that the better.
Sarah thinks we can shake up the GOP from the inside, if we can't they need to whither like the Whigs before them.
Having Sarah back is sunshine to shake the doldrums from the obama winter blues. Hope. That is what she is. It’s like spring coming early!
Please tell me more about that.
I reached voting age shortly after the 1960 election so it was with enthusiasm that I pulled the level for Barry Goldwater in 1964 and campaigned with vigor for him. Yes, as he got older, he certainly didn't get wiser but descended into liberalism. That was far from the Goldwater of the mid-60's. Is that latter-day Goldwater to whom you're referring or was there a liberal lurking under the strong Conservative that I perceived nearly half a century ago?
Just realized the amount. $1.2 million is nothing. What a joke. The GOP is purging conservatives and moving left. Palin is not only a day late and a billion dollars short, but futile besides. I’m not blaming her per se, and I know now that Obama would have likely stolen the election even if Palin had run. Lord knows that the GOP would have given her no financial or political assistance.
It is just funny to see her too-late attempt that will come to nothing.
It is over. Obama will wreck destruction on this nation and plant the seeds of our destruction inserting communist civil servant workers at every level of the Federal Govt. I am sure right now they have SEIU leaders going over every high level vacancy with a fine toothed comb to insure they have their progressive representative appointed or promoted to every vacanancy in every Federal organization.
They are going to ruin us with regulations doing an end-run around the Congress.
I admire Palin’s drive but it is a day late and a billion dollars short. We can’t even slow down the rate of collapse anymore.
In the 60s Barry was a big spender. He always liked big government. The social liberalism came later, and may have been senile dementia.
I also campaigned for him in ‘64, which got me in trouble with Pierre Salinger, who was a friend at the time.
You criticize, but what are YOU doing? She has personally helped conservatives get elected. Lots of them! What have you done?
Boy, here’s hoping. This Party needs a radical reinvention.
One word for you....Seppuku
