Once again Sarah Palin is showing that she has no plans to play by the rules.
She has parted ways with FOX News after a turbulent relationship with the conservative cable news channel, taken pot shots at pundits in the 'lame stream media' and slammed her own party for selecting Mitt Romney as the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.
Now the former Alaska governor says she'll use the $1.2 million raised through her SarahPAC to 'shake up the GOP machine' and unveiled a vague vision on how she'll get her message out to a larger audience.
News broke on Friday night that she had not renewed her $1 million annual contract with FOX News, after three years as a contributor on Roger Ailes' network.
Palin then spoke out on Saturday, in an interview with Breitbart.com, saying that she was working to 'free up opportunities to share more broadly the message of the beauty of freedom and the imperative of defending our republic and restoring this most exceptional nation.'
Calling the future 'wide open' with opportunities, she shared how she plans 'to pick battles wisely, and all in due season' - hinting that she still has a fight left in her.
Her vision for the future coincided with the financial disclosure from her Political Action Committee, SarahPAC, with records released on Monday showing she ended 2012 with nearly $1.2 million in the bank.
She raised around $20,790 between Nov. 27 and Dec. 31 and spent $67,800 during that time period on expenses including consulting, speech writing and legal fees...

Sorry Sarah. Too late. Our last chance to save the Republic was before Obama was re-elected to finish the job of destroying the USA economy and institutions. Too late Sarah. There won’t be anything left to save. Now it is just a matter of how fast we decline and fall.
“After the Kerry vote today; it is CLEAR we need a second party. Up to it, Sarah?”
I think it may come to that eventually. With the Republican Party rapidly transforming into the Democrat-Lite Party, we’ll need one to represent conservatives.
Governor Palin stands by her principles and will stand by them no matter what. She resonates with the “average Joe” and we need someone like that in Washington, DC to clean house.....and believe me, there will be a house that needs to be cleaned.
Whats up with FOX paying Juan WIlliams more than her...?
Williams is a loose cannon rolling around Fox’s decking..
and several other liberal hand-granades bouncing from beam to beam..
Could be O’Really is the power broker there.. who has the loyalty of a Wolverine..
His loyalty is all in his stomach.. he can dine on carrion easily..
He is like Jerry Rivers only difference he is successful..
But both are Doofussi.
With the 97-3 Senate vote to confirm the treasonous John Kerry (with only Cruz, Cornyn and Inhofe taking a principled stand), and with Sarah Palin's courageous stand, it's clear that the Republican party is simply living up to its long heritage as being the establishment, go-along-to-get-along, reach across the aisle collection of Washington insiders.
The default position of the GOP is not Conservative. And I don't think it ever was. Aside from Calvin Coolidge, the only authentic Conservative to ascend to the presidency was, of course, Ronald Wilson Reagan. Barry Goldwater tried but was hampered at every turn by the Northeastern elites, the Lodges and Rockefellers, the ones who have run the party for decades.
What Reagan did was run under Republican banner but, in his wisdom, he only used the party to advance the interests of a strong Conservative America. In that sense, he was indeed a Republican in name only since his cause was far greater and far nobler than that of the GOP!
Like Sarah Palin, President Reagan went rogue and transcended the constraints of the mere GOP. Until the leftists are eliminated from the Republicans (and we clearly saw just who they were today), in the strictest sense of the term, being a RINO is -- in fact -- a badge of honor.
Palin should spend her time and PAC resources going after the 40-50 House RINOS in their home districts. Take them on in their own backyards. RINOS are enemy #1 and everyone knows it.
Back in 2008 I saw Palin as the next Reagan. Now I don't know if she's the next Reagan or the next Ross Perot.
is this article satire? 1.2 mil? Romney and Rove blew 1 billion and only gained IN and NC.
Then why are you wasting your time here?
Keyes was good. But he’s spoiled goods of late
Go Sarah
Cornyn’s no vote was cover - he’s up for re-election in 2014 - Kerry was going to be appointed anyway so this was a no-brainer vote for him. I’m sure he got together with the “boys” and explained his problem.
See my post earlier in this thread. It may be merely a semantic difference between us, but the enemy are CINOs, Conservative In Name Only. The Republican party has a heritage of eschewing Conservatism -- with the likes of George Norris, Thomas Dewey, Bob La Follette, Jacob Javits, Fiorello La Guardia, Olympia Collins, Bob Dole, Nelson Rockefeller and, sadly, far too many more fitting that profile.
The greatest president of my lifetime, Ronald Reagan, rose above the mere party label of "Republican" to lead a Conservative revolution, fighting the long-entrenched leadership of the party. In that sense, President Reagan was a rebellious RINO since he cast off the shackles of mere Republicanism to advance genuine Conservatism. He was the real deal.
Sad to say, but we were right about Romney all along. Big "L" loser as a Republican nominee.
Connie Francis to the GOP-e: Who's sorry now?
I’m all for Sarah, no matter what ventures she attempts to aspire, but she REALLY needs to get over the John McCain is great crap. HE is part of the problem. HE is a RINO. And if she wants to call “Moderates”, like Romney, out on the carpet, she NEEDS to put McLame in there as well. ALL of them need to go.
I still say the best ticket would be Rand Paul/Allen West (in any order), but if Sarah Palin wants to jump in again...I’m for that too. However, I think she needs to get someone more acceptable to the main stream conservatives because I know many who are totally turned off on her (for whatever lame reason) and she would need to get their support somehow.
I can’t see America going from a president we can’t trust to one we can’t understand. Sarah, yes... Alan, no.
Actully, he was worse than that, and it has been a long time coming.
The only reason FOX hired her was to keep her off the other networks. The move was obvious as all get-out.
