A man whose burglary of a St. Paul home was foiled by two women and a pink-handled handgun was sentenced Friday, Jan. 4, to nearly 11 years in prison.
Described by his own attorney as a "career criminal," Marty Mark Childs has at least nine prior felony convictions, including residential burglary, theft and attempted escape.
He had been out of prison on a previous burglary sentence less than four months when he walked through an unlocked back door of a house in the 1300 block of Fremont Street on Sept. 16. It was mid-afternoon, and Rebecca Larson, 56, was in the driveway washing her car.

What the heck does that (the pink blouses) have to do with this story?
The women are obviously rabid "Kello Kitty" right wingers with a pink handgun. Must demonize them. You know, the standard media themes...

We know they’re not Code Pink commies...
DIE, SCUMBAG!!!!
Duh. More coffee. “Hello Kitty”. Gotta make more coffee.
Extra points for cuteness.
Old story but nice to read.
Marty Mark Childs “Professional Dufus”
Interesting part when they “forced” him to the floor, put a foot on his neck and had a knee in his back.
This teaches us not to burgle homes owned by armed women who wrestle.
It’s also interesting that he seems to have dropped some weight over the past 111 days. Here’s his booking photo.

Perhaps the pink gun is the only reason it was reported...
“Law-abiding citizens exercising their Constitutional Rights prevent another tragic crime”...just doesn’t sound as sexy as “pink gun”.
NINE prior felony convictions? What is he doing out on the streets?
Personally I am in favor of a mandatory death sentence for any three-time felon. It would require making fewer minor offenses into felonies, of course. But surely anyone who has already served two terms of incarceration and goes on to commit a third major felony is worthy of being excised from our civilization permanently.
LOL!
“What the heck does that (the pink blouses) have to do with this story?”
I would have worn a pink blouse, too, in honor of the pink gun that may have saved my life.
AWESOME.
Amish or Mennonite?

Another ‘great’ headline....
I would also be ‘scared’ if from out of nowhere a pink gun got me cornered.
Really scary if someone were ‘manning’ it.
