I seriously doubt that hes going to jail. But the D.C. Police Department apparently has nothing better to do than examine whether he violated the citys gun laws.
Was the moderator of Meet the Press caught on tape, armed and dangerous, liberating a few Slurpees from a 7-Eleven? No, he waved a high-capacity ammunition clip on the air while interviewing Wayne LaPierre, asking it shouldnt be banned.
Was it a stunt? Yep, and an eye-catching one. Was Gregory being aggressive with the NRA chief, or seeming to push gun control in a confrontational interview? All that is up for debate.
But a police probe over what I assume was an empty ammo clip is a total waste of time. What it demonstrates above all is that journalists are getting ensnared in the political war over gun control.
Even more absurd than a criminal inquiry into David Gregory is an effort by pro-gun enthusiasts to kick Piers Morgan out of the country. His crime? Carrying on a passionate crusade for gun control.
Thus, more than 68,000people have signed a petition urging that the CNN host be deported back to Britain. Thats right, they are so outraged about his perceived attack on the Second Amendment that theyre willing to ignore the First by banishing Morgan for his views.
Im not going to defend Piers telling gun advocate Larry Pratt, Youre an unbelievably stupid man, arent you? But raising the specter of deportation is ludicrous.
Morgan has been cheeky on Twitter, saying: If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?
The gun issue, in the wake of Newtown, could not be more serious. These sideshows are anything but.
Just that headline alone is delicious! Let them defend themselves for awhile.
As I understand it, Piers is NOT an American citizen; therefore, he has NO protection under the 1st amendment.
Yes, Howard......Okay for thee, but not for me.
I’m glad all you elitist butthole liberals scampering for that “Get” are so consumed with yourselves.
My fervent hope is that you, too, overstep your ego and subject yourself to violation of criminal law and end up on the wrong end of a rectal exam.
If you or I had done what David Gregory did we’d be prosecuted in a heartbeat. Let’s see how the Inner Party like living under the same laws as as the proles.
Wow! What's next Howard? You, realizing that pretending the 2nd amendment doesn't exist is a total waste of time? Naah, that'll never occur to you.
Daily Waste of Time.
My understanding is that as a non citizen resident alien, he has unalienable constitutional rights, but by his status he doesn't have an unalienable right to be here.
I’m hardly a “gun enthusiast” - I want Piers Morgan kicked out because he’s a talentless hack who bullies and threatens his invited guests.
To paraphrase a character in “The Jewel in the Crown”: America has been VERY bad for Morgan.
Thank you for the clarification. Perhaps that is the reason for the petition that is going around to remove him from our country.
Makes sense now, thnx =).
Not our problem....just GO, NOW!
The British have started a petition asking us to keep him. They dont’ want him either.
I say we send him to the Falkland Islands.
The anti-gunners passed these drakonian laws. Let them feel the sting of their overreaching legislation.
I agree, so do away with the law or treat all violators the same.
I'm sure the DC Police have plenty to keep them busy. However, the law is the law and it applies to everyone. You cannot selectively apply it when and where it suits you. When you have videotape of someone committing a crime - hey, that's a slam dunk. Prove that the law applies equally. Unless you think some people are "more equal" than others...
Piers Morgan - the modern day man without a country.
Really?? Hahaha, too funny! Perhaps a muzzie country will accept him....then behead him!
Surely there is an occupier camp that can use him.
Happy New Year
Nice try Howard, but an illegal capacity magazine is illegal with or without rounds. It's kind of like claiming a illegal firearm is ok if it doesn't have a bullet in the chamber.
What's the matter MSM; didn't think the laws you asked for should apply to you?
