Nancy Lanza, whose gun collection was raided by her son Adam for Friday’s massacre at Sandy Hook school, was part of the “prepper” movement, which urges readiness for social chaos by hoarding supplies and training with weapons.
“She prepared for the worst,” her sister-in-law Marsha Lanza told reporters. “Last time we visited her in person, we talked about prepping – are you ready for what could happen down the line, when the economy collapses?”

We truly do not now what went down early... all I do know for a fact is a child killed his own mother.

How come no one is blaming the father? He deliberately abandoned his wife and son, and was particularly cruel.

I actually watched 60 Minutes (first time in years) and saw the nurse speak. I turned to Fox and what’s this interfaith service? Every fricking religion seems to be on stage and the 2008 city data shows that the town is 70% Catholic, 6% Jewish and the rest misc. Christian religions. Moslem is only 2%. Geez.
Am I the only one wondering why his father is off the hook? I’m reading the mother caressed her guns and had drinking buddies at the local watering hole. The father? Apparently he doesn’t drink, doesn’t decorate his house, doesn’t play cards or golf every week with friends. No landscaper or doorman to ask. Nope. He’s free and clear. He bears no responsibility for the actions of his children. Only the mother does.
Did he visit his child weekly? After the divorce, heck, before the divorce, what role did he play as father to a broken child? All I know about him is he’s a big wig at GE and he married a librarian. Oh, and he generously paid his ex wife more alimony than she asked for.

The two friends or acquaintances who were being interviewed by 60 M. did not say probably because they did not know.
AND YOU KNOW THAT HOW? Did you live with them ...etc? Do you normally pass judgment on others whos marriage did not work out...? Are you just a natural know it all?
In my experience, there are precious few execs at that level (GE vice president) who can have any kind of family life, the job is pretty much all consuming.
That’s not an excuse for him, just an explanation.
