In the wake of the deadly Connecticut school shooting, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy said she has warned the White House “the gloves are off” if President Obama fails to act on the issue.
McCarthy (D-N.Y.), the foremost gun control advocate in Congress, said she spoke with White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew before Election Day and told him she will exert pressure on the White House to push for gun control legislation.
“I said, ‘Jack, I know the president is going through an election and I’m telling you after the election I’m coming out full force,’” McCarthy told POLITICO Friday. “I was just giving the White House a heads up that the gloves are off on my side and I was going to do everything I possibly could. … If that meant embarrassing everybody, that’s what I would do.”

Well stated, ridethemiles. You said just what I’ve been thinking about this tragic day and several previous incidents. It should also be said that it was/is the liberals/progressives that abolished those full-time care programs that protected society and helped the serious mentals by housing them and taking care of them. Instead the social activists and many electeds back in the 70’s and 80’s felt that full-time institutions deprived them of their “rights” and they should be put on the streets with pharmaceuticals. The subsequent amount of crime, death, and tragedy is the result and it is both painful, and shameful.
Your loss is unfortunate, McCarthy, but you don’t speak me.

Heh; you’d need to see it in person, to fully believe and appreciate what’s in there.
You know I am not certain what his mental state was but, he stole those guns he used from his mom after he killed her, and punishment is not an issue for him because he killed himself.
Nothing could have prevented this except an armed person with a gun who shot him dead before he did damage.
That’s it.
I can see the White House calling all sorts of Congress critters, asking them to demand that the White House do something about guns.

These mass killings have happened in states that have strict gun laws. Mass killings are NOT happening in states with reasonable gun laws, and concealed carry. Waht does that tell you?
Ban all security details for politicians and celebs. No private security forces with any weapons that the average joe can’t buy at their local gun store.

That’s right. Sorry, America —you sit by and allow the destruction and murder of MILLIONS of innocent children every single day in this country. In fact, with your recent vote, you continue to CONDONE it. And yet we fake outrage and horror at this event. This society is SICK.
