Within eight hours of the initial attack on the United States' diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, the CIA decided to scrub and abandon rather than protect its annex, a military intelligence source told Fox News.
The defensive posture was no longer sustainable," the source told Fox News, revealing for the first time how quickly the CIA chose to secure classified material and close down the facility after it took indirect fire from two mortars at about 5:15 a.m. local time Sept. 12.
The adjoining U.S. consulate, by contrast, has never been secured, even three months after the attack.
The process to sanitize the CIA site began on Sept. 11 after the consulate was attacked around 9:35 p.m. local time. The initial stages of the agencys proscribed evacuation plan kicked in as a precautionary step.

Ping. Did search to see if this had been posted. It hadn’t.
Slightly confused here: didn’t the attck last longer than 8 hours?
Anyone wanting on or off this ping list, please advise.
If we believe this, then they missed some stuff, or they should have CNN join their team.
I have to give Mrs. Herridge credit, she is not letting go of this story.
Cover the Muslim President.
why would they scrub the annex and not the other buildings?
“why would they scrub the annex and not the other buildings?”
Because that’s where Jason Borne was being held!
I have said for the longest time and there was also a Beck rant on this that it was “GUN RUNNING” and a giant cover up of a gun running either gone wrong or lost to the Muzzies. It should also be another case of “Follow the Money” Who was getting paid for what? This thing yells, “IMPEACHMENT” all over the place if only the Pubbies had some cajones. GITMO may not have enough room to hold all the players in this one.
LLS
IIRC, not much longer. Keyword “benghazitimeline” I will look up also. MestaMachine may remember. She is doing a timeline.
In the beginning of reportage, there was much confusion about Benghazi timeline and Wash DC timeline (IMO, much of it on purpose). Benghazi is 6 hours AHEAD of us.
Stevens was in hospital by 1am Benghazi time and pronounced dead 45 minutes later. (around 8pm Wash DC time). I believe they knew Stevens was dead much sooner than what they have said, but it can’t be proved yet.
Sept 11 Benghazi/Wash DC is begging for an accurate timeline, but the coverup continues.
Maybe soon she will find her "deepthroat", hope so.
Speaking of GITMO, Jennifer Griffin reported that the Annex was the largest detention facility in the ME.
“According to multiple intelligence sources who have served in Benghazi, there were more than just Libyan militia members who were held and interrogated by CIA contractors at the CIA annex in the days prior to the attack. Other prisoners from additional countries in Africa and the Middle East were brought to this location.
“The Libya annex was the largest CIA station in North Africa, and two weeks prior to the attack, the CIA was preparing to shut it down. Most prisoners, according to British and American intelligence sources, had been moved two weeks earlier.”
They are different buildings, “consulate” et al outlying bldgs vs annex/safe house.
Why one and not the others? Yeah, yeah, different agencies, but... it would seem (this being the CIA and all) that the sanitizing would include the consulate properties, removing, changing, or maybe even adding.
CIA moved swiftly to scrub the facility?
Then how did CNN find the Ambassador’s personal handwritten journal on the floor, days later? And pick it up.... and stroll out with it.... and broadcast parts of the diary on the news?
They are sanitizing the site to guard against classified information falling into the hands of Obama’s political opponents.
I’m sure they waited until the FBI investigation was completed.
