President Obama, irritated by Republican pledges to prevent Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice from receiving a promotion, said that Rices critics have a problem with me.
When they go after the UN ambassador apparently because they think shes an easy target, then theyve got a problem with me, Obama told reporters today. And should I choose if I think that she would be the best person to serve America in the capacity of the State Department [head] then I will nominate her, but thats not a determination Ive made yet.
Obama was responding to a press conference held by three GOP senators this morning. We will do whatevers necessary to block the nomination thats within our power as far as Susan Rice is concerned, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told reporters today during a press conference on Capitol Hill. McCain faulted Rice for saying that the Benghazi terrorist attack grew out of a spontaneous protest against an anti-Islam Youtube video.

Yes! Allen West for Speaker! He’d be almost as good as Newt...and perhaps even more aggressive, at this point.
LtC West is amazing.
People like him are what need at ALL levels - local, county, state, and national.

It WOULD be simple, if the GOP was a radical action party like the Democrats.
But they are as far from that as can be, and now they're scared shitless to boot.
All 55 Democrat senators are radical leftists. Every single one.
Of the 45 GOP senators, maybe ten have actual conservative instincts.
The next two years will be a lot easier on your mental health if you think of the Senate being divided 90-10 instead of 55-45.
We have to go through the transformation that the Democrats finally accomplished after the Kerry 2004 loss, which was as incomprehensible to them as 2012 is to us.
They settled the question of "base vs. center" by going hard left and betting that the center would defer to the strong horse, and in that they were exactly correct.
The only two ways forward now are a move to the hard right or war (which may come down to the same thing, but we don't know that yet).
The reelection of John Boehner and Rence Preibius suggests that the necessary political evolution can't occur within the GOP, but a hard right political effort may disprove that.
The mantra for the future is "go right or go home". It worked for the RATs.

Not enough to prevent a filibuster unless Reid follows through with the nuclear option on the filibuster rules. The GOP can absolutely refuse to allow a confirmation vote on appointees that are deemed too extreme. The dems did that to W on several excellent judicial nominees - and Zero was an enthusiastic participant in the dem obstruction back then. So he can bluster all he likes.
Nope, just a simple majority. BUT it does take 3/5 to force a vote. GOP can block a confirmation vote with a filibuster.
“I’m breaking out the popcorn and beer ...”
Yep — may as well enjoy the freak show. It seems it’s gonna happen no matter what we say or do.
...then theyve got a problem with me
Ooooh! Pretty tough talk there, BO!
Has the slobbering press *corpse* accused him of being a “cowboy” yet?
No? Well, . . . never mind.
I think Susan Rice is on the fast track to be a big wig in the New World Order World Government. You know, “the ends justify the means” in their world. - I also think some of the people who have aided the UN in getting the control it has have honestly thought it was what was good for us. - When these people pushed Reagan for a national ID, he reportedly answered them, “NO! That’s the Mark of the Beast!”
