Teachers Flock to Northwestern University for 'Marxist Conference'
Breitbart ^

Posted on 11/12/2012 9:03:23 PM PST by chessplayer

This Saturday, the Midwest Marxist Conference was held at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. The event was teeming with teachers who spoke about the new found bond between the radical socialists and their Teachers Union. The all-day event, which collected money to support Chicago Socialists and featured a communist bookstore, provided students on-campus along with the radical left community to plan the next phase in their activism.

After the opening plenary, breakout sessions addressed more specific topics like the history of the Democratic party, education, and case studies in Russia. In these sessions, speakers continued to celebrate the use of education as a mechanism to insert Marxism into public institutions. In one session, the idea of targeting their message to students, even over “the working class,” was debated.

Millions of teachers from around the country are saddened they couldn’t attend.

It is natural that people forget history, especially from one generation to the next. I think one of our urgent needs after this election is to teach history, especially communism and fascism. Young people have really never been taught about it.

Hopefully, news such as this will cause more parents to yank their children out of the ‘would-be Democrat/Socialist voter mills’.

That may be true... but some of them are smarter than others.

Don’t judge all of them.

I agree and that is one way it needs to be approached. Marxism might seem to be a great idea until you get to the body count. I have always been amazed that communism gets let off the hook for its holocausts but Nazism doesn’t.

Don't you suppose there's a reason why schools don't teach history anymore.

Be advised that, for the past twenty years, the education establishment's chief expert on secondary school curricula was...William Ayers.

Yes. That William Ayers.

The absence of American History and the promotion of Marxism in public schools has happened by design.

This was by design.

My mom taught civics for 30 something years until they ended it in 1995... and this was in largest/second large public high school in America.

They also did away with Western Civ as well at the same time.

Deliberate ignorance.... but HEY it is okay, they learned all about warm things like women’s history or hyphenated-American history and Social Justice LOL.

All the while just omitting real world history and the classics all together.

"Young people have really never been taught about it."

You are so right. Instead, they are indoctrinated in it.

I was schooled in kanada and we were ALL brain-washed that Americans were POS trash. Any freeper who says canadians are friends need a lobotomy.

It’s how strong-willed you are, and conservatives are intelligent people. I figured out eventually that kanada was the POS country, not America.

Give well paid union public employees tenure, human nature being what it is, then this is what happens. Big cities are hopeless. At least suburban and rural areas conceivably can have elected school boards and resist.

I agree. None of them know the horrors of Mussolini, Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Lenin; etc,

I am afraid they are about to find out.

Hopefully one action resulting from this forum would be to give proper recognition to Axelrod and his family roots, even with name change, back to to the communists that set the revolution in Russia. I would guess these people believe the kind of effort that caused chaos in Russia to overthrow an established government is ripe for similar action in the USA.

I lived in upstate NY a mere 20 miles from Canada and 56 miles from Montreal as a kid. The French Canucks were always trashing my grandfather’s main camp plus his others for his family on Lake Champlain during the winter.

They came across the border as migrant workers to pick apples at one of my uncles orchard’s near Peru. Sadly, they are better off then we are now.

I kind of chuckled at this:) My husband is Canadian, and I always tease him that the Canadians’ stance in a fight would be...We aren’t Americans, We aren’t Americans...shoot the American
