CHEROKEE, N.C. — The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians in western North Carolina is offering bounty payments of $25 for each coyote carcass that is turned into the tribe.

The Tribal Council is offering the money to try to protect white-tailed deer on the reservation, the Asheville Citizen-Times (http://avlne.ws/SWA3hG ) reported. Money will only be paid for coyotes that have been shot, not trapped.

If only I were able to get away from my work in CA I would gladly take all the tribe's reward money :-)

Heads are no doubt exploding in Asheville, lol. How to rationalize peaceful, harmonious indigenous people behaving in such a manner?

My money’s on blaming bad karma from their siding with the Confederacy.

Around 91 or 92 I was working at a retreat in the Western N.C. mountains.

One day I had visited Asheville and was returning home. I stopped at the mall for some reason and noticed maybe a hundred Indians. They were all dressed in war paint and just hanging around.

I wondered if they were engaging in some type of protest etc. They really did look a bit scary tho none of them were acting hostile.

I later learned they were Indians from Cherokee and were working as extras for the movie, “Last of the Mohicans” which was being filmed a few miles away.

Nothing can kill Wile. How many anvils have landed on him?

The area around and in Asheville is strange. There are a lot of new age types, old hippies etc. but there are also a lot of conservative Christians.

I recall a Christian group appeared in the auditorium of Ridgecrest Assembly. I think it probably held two or three thousand and it was packed with young people. Sort of surprised me.

In 25+ years Asheville has gone from a stagnant mountain hub town to a thriving city of eclectic tastes with a strong bent on left wing fringe wackos and every variety of perverted and/or misled culture that makes up the democrat party.

Still a fun place to spend an Saturday afternoon.

It’s one of those places where the downtown is packed on weekend nights and most everyone is from somewhere else.

And there are about a dozen breweries; New Belgium and Sierra Nevada are opening up large scale operations there within the year. Good brew scene happenings.

Sounds a lot like Sedona, Arizona, except for the Conservative Christians.

Sitting in a deer stand late, late afternoon, the time of day the big, once in a lifetime buck is apt to step out into your field and here comes a coyote, I’ll shoot him every time and end the day with out the big buck maybe that’s why I’ve never killed the monster buck just can’t let a coyote cross my field. The Cherokees have it right.

Heads up progressive coyotes .... us conservatives are good with guns, $25 will buy a lot of ammo and ridding the world of a bunch of coyotes will be considered good for society.

Yesterday I fed a coyote to my buzzards. It was a relatively easy shot at 100 yards with a .308 and was quickly lethal. The buzzards found it within an hour and have feasted upon it since. “Buzzards got to eat too..”

I’m looking for work, maybe I ought to take my .22LR rifle and take the tribe up on its offer.
