Breaking news on Benghazi: the CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA director David Petraeus, has put out this statement: "No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.
So who in the government did tell anybody not to help those in need? Someone decided not to send in military assets to help those Agency operators. Would the secretary of defense make such a decision on his own? No.
It would have been a presidential decision. There was presumably a rationale for such a decision. What was it? When and whyand based on whose counsel obtained in what meetings or conversationsdid President Obama decide against sending in military assets to help the Americans in need?

I have disproved of the rules of engagement too. There is a new general in charge in Afghanistan now. It’s his job to judge if things are set up correctly or not. If they aren’t, then change them.
Evidently he disagrees with us also.

Great, and then we take our chances with getting another Leftist in to run the CIA.
Talk about your lose/lose scenario.

Actually, we need to hold off until January 20th. Prior to that, pardons can be issued for any charges.
The Congress needs to put a hold on all orders from the Oval Office and stymie all efforts from same to circle its wagons or issue covering orders.

Exactly! I believe this was their true motivation. They’re cowards and they deserve to finally pay for their corruption.

You are correct. I’m not sure what I read earlier today, but it seemed to imply there was one C-130 in the direct vicinity. It was the first time I had heard of one being there. Perhaps I confused topics and it was an old story talking about it being on location in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Sorry about that.
The fight at the annex lasted 6 to 7 hours. I’ve heard several figures. It would seem we could get an aircraft in there to help out over that period. Evidently the guys on the ground thought we could, since they were evidently lasing targets. If not, something else could have been done.
We did have the drones, and they could tell us what forces we would have been facing.
I do appreciate the correction the C-130s. Thanks.

With everyone taking turns under the bus, it’s a wonder that it still moves!

It’s not “window dressing”. One of the Alynski rules is to make a trouble maker a part of your operation, give him a job and make him responsible for the outcome. That way he can’t cause trouble with making trouble for himself.

The good GEN carried the kenyans water on the video CYA A MONTH AGO? Where has he been since? What a shock he felt no need to correct his testimony to Congress. What a perfumed hack he is.

Has Kristol ever considered that Petraeus is telling the truth, and not, “throwing anyone under the bus?”
To: Snuph
I see a lot of back and forth on what the CIA director did or did not do, what he's guilty of or not, etc.
Here's the bottom line. Those under attack in Libya sent multiple requests for help. Seals in Libya requested permission to help. SOMEBODY (probably POTUS) told them to stand down. Repeatedly. This sealed the fate of those under attack. Did anyone defy those orders? Not the VP, Sec of State, Sec of Defense, or CIA Director. None of them had the guts to put their careers on the line. On the other hand, the Seals in Libya DID defy those orders, because they simply could not stand by and do nothing. They risked much more than their careers. They risked their lives, ultimately in vain because no more help came to back them up. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE OFFICIALS are pond scum, not worthy to lick the boots of those who gave their lives trying to defend other American lives in Libya.
The blood is on ALL of their hands and I pray it never washes off.
