Evening, Kathy. Woohoo, am I one of the top 10?
Hello Kathy,...((HUGS))
Good Evening, Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
You might be surprised to learn this ballpark is located in Kutno, Poland.
In Lansing, Michigan, during the winter, we dont get many sunny days. But last year God blessed us with one of those beautiful days, and it seemed that almost everyone was thanking God, except me. As I left my office, a man said, What a wonderful day were having. This is a gift from God! To which I replied, Yes, but were getting snow later this week. What ingratitude!
In his letters, the apostle Paul helped his readers to develop a theology of gratitude. He wrote about thanksgiving more often than any other New Testament author. From the 23 times he used the word, we learn a few lessons about thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving was always directed toward God and never toward people. People were gifts from God, and Paul thanked God for their growth, love, and faith (1 Cor. 1:4; 1 Thess. 1:2).
Thanksgiving is given through Jesus for everything (Col. 3:15,17). Paul believed followers of Jesus could be thankful for everything because God is sovereign, and He is working things out for the believers good (1 Thess. 5:18).
May we intentionally be aware of Gods gifts all around us, and respond with gratitude. In response to Gods gifts, its natural to say, Thank You, Lord.
Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22
Thanks, Galz, for this “double” hero! First one of the brave troops who has defended America and then as a baseball hero who was admired by so many afterward!

~ Tonight... Mostly clear. Low 51F. Winds light and variable.
Kind of chilly this morning.
Had a pretty fall weekend at the homestead.
Sunday morning we (me, hubby, son, and granddaughter)
went to my parents for breakfast.
During the cooler months, mother fixes her famous
biscuits and gravy (two kinds - bacon and corned beef).
Got home in time for the game to start.
Don't even want to talk about the Skins game
other than it was a nail-biter.
Off for my morning walk.
But please stay right where you are.
Chat up the military or a family member.
No need to fret...you know I'll be back!
The FR Canteen is
Come in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

As a kid on his tenth birthday I got to see Stan's last game, Musial WAS St Louis at that time and still is a big part of St Louis even today.
Here is an article from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Nov. 21, 2010 90 Things to love about The Man
Teaser Bit
88 The Man was so popular and beloved that even a Republican crowd loved him as he campaigned for his friend JFK in 1960. The famous author James Michener once wrote of being with Musial when Stan made a campaign stop for Kennedy in Nebraska. "In the shadows we saw several hundred silent ranchers awaiting us," Michener wrote. The crowd declined to applaud the pro-Kennedy celebrities that came to ask for votes. But the silence was broken when Musial's name was announced to the audience. According to Michener: "A low rumble arose from the crowd, and men pressed forward, dragging their boys and girls with them" to get close to "an authentic American folk hero."
