Paul Ryan fundraising in Chicago, Big Bird joins protests

October 7, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Republican vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan came to the Chicago area for a big fundraiser, and protesting Democrats were waiting for him.

His motorcade arrived at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare.

The top price was nearly $76,000 per person.

Outside, Democrats demonstrated against the Republican agenda and Big Bird joined them to protest Mitt Romney's plan to end the federal subsidy for the Public Broadcasting System.

They were upset about his Medicare plans, but Republicans say they're on a roll after the first Presidential debate.

"The Romney-Ryan voucher plan would leave seniors at the mercy of health care insurance companies," said Katie Jordan of the National Alliance of Retired Americans.

Explain how one “Patricia de Stacy Harrison”, CEO of a multi-billion dollar media empire makes millions in salary and bonus package and will make millions in her retirement package. Oh, and has a near-million dollar buy-out package (golden parachute) waiting for her if she leaves prior to retirement.

Millions here, a (near) million there... pretty soon we are talking about serious money. With figures like those, how come Big Bird isn't wearing his Mister Moneybags ("Monopoly guy") top hat, monocle, spats and cane at these events? Is he slumming or something? Is he just another 1%-er playing like he's one of the peeps?

I just saw a new DNC TV ad that went through all these criminals, like Maddoff and Lay, as these Wall Street Criminals, but how Romney is going after the REAL villain, "Big Bird." The RNC responded with an ad going after Obama and the DNC, showing how in the latest DNC ad, they mentioned Big Bird and Elmo a bunch of time, yet didn't mentioned fixing the economy or Libya even once!
