Mitt Romney slyly proved hes a racist last night while describing his tax plan. Did you notice? No? Anyone? Harpers Magazines Kevin Baker embarrassed himself in accusing Romney of trying to lock down his allegedly-racist base during last nights debate.
[Obama]didnt show a spark of anger, even when Romney slyly found a way to call him a boy, comparing Obamas statements to the sorts of childish lies his five boys used to tell, Baker laments today. How the rights hard-core racists must have howled at that! Mitt, at long last, has secured his base.
Actually, the entire debate audience laughed at Romneys clever, innocuous way of rebutting Obamas attack. Heres what Romney said to Obama, per the White House transcript:
I will not reduce the share paid by high-income individuals. I know that you and your running mate keep saying that, and I know its a popular thing to say with a lot of people, but its just not the case. Look, Ive got five boys. Im used to people saying something thats not always true, but just keep on repeating it and ultimately hoping Ill believe it. (Laughter.) But that is not the case, all right? I will not reduce the taxes paid by high-income Americans.
Baker is tilting at windmills, at best. Why? Maybe it helps their self-esteem to pretend that, instead of defending a failed presidency and a lousy economic recovery, they are living 50 years ago, standing alongside freedom riders and marchers in the segregated South, The Washington Examiner speculated recently in response to liberal pundits endless ability to connect modern politics to slavery.
I was listening to Rush’s take on the debate yesterday. He said the leftist pundits have nothing to say at this point other than the usual accusations of “racism, sexism, homophobia, tax cuts for the wealthy”, etc. I’d kinda like to hear Romney use that line in one of the debates. He could even couple it with a “there you go again”.
Wow. Grasping at straws doesn’t even begin to describe this. :)
Referring to his children is somehow racist? That’s beyond a stretch.
Actually, as Rush pointed out yesterday, Romney wasn't making a boy comparison, he was making a child comparison, and made the point that he was accustomed to dealing with the lies children (like Obama) tell.
Nicely done, in my opinion.
There's covert stuff goin' on. Some covert shit I just found out. I'm glad you're here. Come in here. Right now, everybody. Come here.
Unknown: What you talkin' about?
Kit Ramsey: Just for fun... ...I scanned the script to see how many times the letter "K" appears. The letter "K" appears in this script 1,456 times. That's perfectly divisible by three.
Freddy: So what're you saying?
Kit Ramsey: What am I sayin'? "KKK" appears in this script 486 times. The sickness is deep.
Unknown: He's playing you.
Kit Ramsey: I've been played.
Unknown: That's really not the case here.
Hal, Kit's Agent: This is a great script. It's not Shakespeare, but...
Kit Ramsey: What'd you just say?
Hal, Kit's Agent: I said, "It's not Shakespeare, but... "
Kit Ramsey: It's not... Did you hear what he's doing?
Freddy: He's doing something. I just can't put my finger on it.
Ohhhhhhhhh. Romney said “boy.” That word is on the list of racist words when spoken by a Republican. Actually, the list of words that a Republican says that condemn him as a racist is the Webster Dictionary of the English Language.
Harper Magazine? Must be a tough existence, examining the debate for two days to come up with something, anything that may be remotely taken as “racist”. Everybody here is right- no substance so call names instead.
Actually, as Rush pointed out yesterday, Romney wasn’t making a boy comparison, he was making a child comparison

Where does this stuff come from?
Not only an outrageous stretch and talk about taking something completely out of context....
Especially when Biden ‘gets away’ with ‘a clean looking black guy’, Reid ‘he is articulate’ and Clinton, “a few years ago he would be carrying my bags’, idolize R Byrd etc.
I believe the ‘hidden’ message in this statement was he was calling BO a ‘liar’ in as much as teenagers are want to lie - on occasion -, just because they are teenagers....
It is a good thing Romney didn’t mention the name Mary in his answers as this fool would have Romney calling BO a homo.
These clowns are so unbelievable it would be laughable if only they didn’t take themselves so seriously.
Romney did not demean the messiah in the sense of him being the subservient and inferior boy in the lexicon of racists of old. But he did compare him to a child who lies and thinks, if he tells it enough times, it will be believed. Indeed, Obama displayed other childish characteristics in his demeanor during the debate: smirking, frowning petulantly, looking sheepish, and pouting with his head down. So, Romney’s comments were entirely apropos.
The three of them traded jokes for a few minutes. Finally, Bob Hope said something nice about Mr. Chamberlain's game performance, and then said, "yeah, Wilt... he's my boy." When he said "boy," he slapped Chamberlain on his massive knee.
Wilt the Stilt said "Whaat?" and Bob Hope, feigning terror, jumped up and ran off the set. Johnny and the audience were laughing at the whole thing.
Actually, Romney’s cute story about his sons was a subtle reference to a far more sinister Obama/Dem technique, as described by a previous master of sinister techniques:
But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success.
“War Propaganda”, volume 1, chapter 6 of Mein Kampf (1925), by Adolf Hitler
This is probably the origin of the meme “if you repeat a lie often enough...”
I noticed and commented to my wife that one of the genius accomplishments of Romney’s performance was figuring out how to call Obama a liar in multiple subtle ways, so the audience would not find it offensive, but still get the message. He did this with the sons story, by saying “you’re not entitled to your own facts”, by saying “he never heard of the tax credit for shipping jobs overseas”, etc. Brilliant.
This was Romney’s chance to shine - and he took advantage of it. Oh wait, can I say that?
I guess if Romney had 5 girls, obamma’s bed-wetters would be saying Romney called obamma a girl?
“Repeat a lie often enough” was a phrase originally coined by Vladimir Lenin.
When we watched the debate, I said to my wife, “Do you think the use of the word ‘boys’ by Mitt will be a problem?” She said “No, who even thinks like that?” Well...
Rush went there yesterday, but not in a racial way. He said Mitt comparing Obama to his boys or “children” had to really grind on Obama.
The only racist statement that Romney’s victory could possibly convey to black Americans, is that the black president liberals touted as being so intelligent that average people couldn’t understand him, was trounced by a white businessman that many conservatives lambasted as being weak minded enough to be brainwashed into the cult of a man who saw visions of God in his hat.
There were probably a lot of liberals thanking their Flying Spaghetti Monster that they didn’t have a Gingrich or a Cain to deal with...but their Harvard genius Nobel winner couldn’t compete with a Milquetoast Mitt prepared for a confrontation, armed with simple facts. I’m sure the Coked Up One’s golf clubs will be gathering dust, as his socialist cohorts force feed lies and false statistics into his skull until his eyes bleed.
IMO if a Gingrich or a Cain had been at the conservative podium during this debate, all that would be left of the Muzzie Traitor in Chief would be a gibbering wet spot on the floor, and Michelle would have been hauled off in a straight jacket, biting and spitting at anything white.
But, I’ll happily take what I can get, for now.
Is he or isn't he?
I knew it was only a matter of time before this came up. I was going to mention it before but didn’t want to give any lurking leftist any ideas.
I knew as soon as he said “his boys” used to lie to him like Obama was, that the race card would be played. I guess I’ve been indoctrinated to a certain point to the over sensitivity of political “correctness” but I cringed a bit when he said “boys”. Immediately.
It was a perfectly clever analogy, and if this society weren’t so danged sensitive, it wouldn’t be an issue. I blame that more than Romney. To be completely “safe” though he should have said “kids”.
It’s sick though, that this will now become a focus of the debate, and will be milked for every last drop. Anything to distract from the utter defeat of the Zero.
