President Obama may not be as skilled an orator as he is thought to be by the media, but he is not as inept as he came across in the first debate. I believe he purposefully stumbled. The stammering, the lack of focus, at one point bumping the microphone were in my opinion a carefully constructed act. I believe he is trying to set the stage for a knock-out punch to his opponent in the next debate. From now until then the media will focus on Obama and his need to have a strong showing. If I am right the question is will Romney be prepared?
Nobody’s that smart.
Mr. Obama stunk the place out last night.
He’ll be better next time, but that wouldn’t be difficult.
He’s got nothing to point to.
Or perhaps he really IS a bumbling idiot... just a thought.
No I really think he intended to just stand there and dole out talking points all night. I do agree however that the media is going to try and set up a “come-back kid” story for the next debate.
Nuts! He’s an idiot, in way over his head.
He’s debating foreign policy next, you know his policies of destroying our allies, showing weakness to our enemies and arming/fighting FOR terrorists to get them in power. What could go wrong for him? Get a grip.
I think the rope-a-dope was being played by Romney. Up till last night he had been running a lousy campaign and been virtually invisible. Not only did he perform very well, but after going weeks with seeing nary a yard sign nor a bumper sticker, overnight they have magically sprung-up like wildflowers. The result of deliberate timing I think.
This is part of some brilliantly well-executed marketing strategy. Four weeks of shock-and-awe lie ahead I think.
Yeah, too many of us are falling for the “160 IQ” BS that the left is putting out.
Obama’s probably nearer to half that.
You are seriously over-thinking. Looking for some great political strategy to Obama looking like an idiot.
He had nothing to gain by blowing it when he had the entire press on his side all but saying he won the election. If he had done a decent job, the press would have wet themselves with joy.
Should Romney’s people be aware that when you strike at a wild boar, they will try to strike back harder and be smarter? Yes.
Should they act like this win was some fluke? Nope!
No, you and about 3 others currenly confined to a rubber room were as well. Please, enough of the conspiracy garbage. Obama has been exposed without his media suck-ups as the fiter. Its that plain to see.
Just does not compute.
You forgot to mention Obama’s number one diplomacy tactic - apologies all over the Muslin world
So he is wearing Romney down by letting him punch him in the face over and over? Brilliant plan... for an idiot. This isn’t a Rocky movie.
He isn’t a great orator, he just practiced and had fire in his belly in 2008 and McCain didn’t even try in the debates.
He now has no one to blame but himself and he can’t defend what he has done.
He may have been off his game, but I doubt that even if he comes back with a good performance that Romney will be taken off guard.
maybe 0 took a dive because, despite the perks, he doesn’t want to be president next year when the economy crashes.
What you saw from Obama was simply a reaction to one of the best debate performances by any candidate in the last 50 years. Forget the idea that Barry had some grand plan he was simply an unwilling participant in what turned out to be an Obama roast witnessed by 60 some million people.
